Guest DKYC Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Hi all, Anyone has this problem? after using the phone for a while, running few programs, when you tap the "Menu" of a program, example Google Map, the menu won't pop up? so, i can't tap exit, or select other function. Even this happened on SMS page, Phone Dialer page sometimes, i usually running these programs: Google Map, Handcalendar (掌心万年历), Mdict, Resco Explorer 2010 beta, Pocket Music Player. Is this the so called "memory lag"? But i checked the program RAM still have 30MB, can't be memory problem right? The phone is not hang, just the "menu" is not functioning when u tap on it. And sometime can't even run the handcaledar. Everyday do soft reset, really sick of it! My Omnia 2 is running Win6.5 J9, upgraded from SCS Singapore in Nov. Is it Win6.5 problem? I ever think of downgrade to win 6.1? Can someone tell me what to do please? Thanks!

Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I've had this happen to me but not very often, normally with the calendar app. I soft rest is the quickest fix for me.

You are running IJ9 which has been proven to be one the most stable Original (which also is official) ROM since MoDaCo (Secany actually) started to provide i8000 ROMs to public and I was happy with this version as well since I tried other ROMs! So, It can not be the Win.6.5 (IJ9) fault, at least not that much that people are speculating about. If, I repeat IF, I were you I would stick with Win.6.5 but try other stable and newer ROM, I've almost tried all ROMs so far and were happy with IJ9 and IK5 (original/official) till someone from country of Diego Maradona came up with custome ROMs which has made me to like my toy more than any other phone that i have owned. P.S. I would say your problem might be due to one of your installed 3rd party application/s if not native ones, try to remove them one by one, softreset and work with your toy to see which one is the faulty/incompatible one? Is Official ROM or Unofficial? Where to get it?? IH5 was 6.1 ROM. you can found it here i8000 Omnia II GSM ROM Discussion or here: http://www.bytheway.gr/portal2/forum/showt...amp;language=en. If you prefer 6.5, go try the latest IL5 ROM: http://www.modaco.com/content-page/293492/...-rom/page/3260/ at post #3271. Read the instruction and done accordingly.

The latest 2.9 开发版#1 (the old v2.8 + new HandCalendar Today plugin) might having some bug on wm6.5.
Guest sys_error Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) @darren_kok... Good luck on your issue, i saw you posted from HardWareZone to MoDaCo. Hope the people here can give you good advice. At the same time, hope you dare to try flashing to KC's latest wm6.1 custom rom for Omnia2, with 101MB of free program memory, perhaps your problem will be gone after that. Thanks for your advice, i'm still trying to figure out what problem, well, yesterday i uninstalled the .Net CF v3.7, and installed V3.5, so far ok, after reboot, i got 50Mb++ free RAM (coz SPB Mobile Shell is running), after using for a while, now got 36.50MB (better than b4, 30MB only). I need to run the Handcalendar, Pocket Music Player or MDict frequently to see if the problem exist, because it usually happened after running and exit these programs for few times, the "Menu" for the Pocket Music Player and Mdict won't pop up, Handcalendar is worst, "main page" doesn't show, and this also happened to MSN b4, i can't sign out becoz the "menu" did not pop up, so i tap the "x" to close.
