I just got my O2 few days ago, updated from winmo 6.1 to 6.5 . Charged it, turned off then on after that that it says "The phone is currently off. Would you like to turn on the phone?" , I hit yes then in the main screen the signal icon has an "x" mark. I went to settings > system > wireless manager > Phone and turned it on the loading screen just shows up and after the loading screen is gone nothing changed I still got my phone mode off. I checked my version in settings > system > device and the phone version is noticeably blank. I tried hard reset but no luck, tried also flashing some roms but I still got the same problem, flashed roms for almost 4 times and 2 hard resets. I cannot enjoy Christmas with this! :) I cannot send SMS. Can somebody help me? Or has anyone solved this kind of problem? ;)

btw my device version is:

PDA : I8000NXXIJ9

CSC: I8000FAMIJ3

PHONE: (blank)

Sounds to me like you've erased the GSM radio when you flashed your device. I'm new to the Omnia - I've always had HTC devices, so I don't know how to help you with this, but I do know that the radio is in a different part of the ROM than the operating system. Perhaps you should post this in the ROM section instead. Have you read the ROM flashing guides? I'm sure you'll find the information you need there to flash a radio :)

I dunno what happened to this phone, I upgraded it successfully to winmo 6.5 using Samsung New PC Studio then used it for 1 day with no problem and with no reason while charging then turned it on I got that message I even hard reset to get the default configs but no luck, as I remembered I flashed roms almost 7 times when the problem started. I think I got a similiar problem like him(http://www.samsung-omnia.org/how-to/the-ph...60691/#msg60691) but hes using Omnia I . Now this Phone is just like a Ipod Touch with a camera, cant call or sms :) . Im thinking to send this back to the store and get a replacement since it has a 1 year warranty. Will give another shot to fix this.

This is your best option, don't go messing with roms when you have warranty.

I believed it might be one of the component/chip on the phone has became malfunctioned.

My advice to those with the same situation,

If you hanset is under warranty, send it back to Samsung Service Centre to have it mainboard changed.

DIY ROM flashing not 100% risk-free, it was potential to some failure to happen.

So flash your handset with extreme precaution before you start to do it.

1. Install all software and driver needed for ROM flashing and make sure they already recognised by your PC system before proceed flashing.

2. Remove SIM and Storage Card.

3. Format Device and My Storage.

4. 100% fully charge battery.

Above are just a Precaution way prior to ROM flashing, not 100% guarantee risk-free way.
