Guest Paul Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Gonna make up a MCR for Liquid, MCR for Milestone if we get a root and a MCR for Nexus One for sure. That's in addition to MCR updates for Hero and Pulse! :) I'll likely sell my Liquid and maybe Milestone to fund the Nexus purchase, thankfully the Pulse was pretty cheap so i'll keep that and the Hero was paid for after MCR by donations. I'll keep doing MCR updates for devices I still have. P

Guest luthepa1 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 It's kinda funny, when you donate money to someone on the internet you don't really know, you should probably be comfortable with the fact that although that person may well be pretty well known and reliable, it's quite possible you won't see the results you hope for for your money in the timescales you expect. Everyone has unexpected things pop up, other things in their life other than ROMs etc. - I speak from experience! :) Donations work best when you're giving a donation as a token of gratitude for something that has been done already... that way if the donation doesn't produce anything new, you're not disappointed and if it does, it's an added bonus! To ROM chefs... the best way to do it is to probably make great ROMs for a device you have and use donations from that to fund the next device... hence you can always move forward to new devices. Just my 2p. P I 2nd that!!! Exactly right. ;)
Guest B1ny Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Expect some € from me as well if you keep the Liquid :)

Guest saquib Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Is there a single email/phone number that we can all call, will build up some pressure ? I rang a couple of numbers from Acer UK site but no joy. Not until we get kernel source! P
Guest Faithfullsdv Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) I'm waiting for news, your impression about this phone? Edited January 6, 2010 by Faithfullsdv
Guest amdnikos Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 I just bought an Acer liquid, how long do you think it will be before the your eclair rom is available? You Are our "Hero"!!! Thanks for your Great Work. Faith Acer claims that its gonna be an update until march on eclair.
Guest Faithfullsdv Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Acer claims that its gonna be an update until march on eclair. i'm sorry... i worte in the wrong topic... :)
Guest amdnikos Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 i'm sorry... i worte in the wrong topic... B) You are welcome mate. :)
Guest maxisma Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) It will take some time until I can release a ROM, because I first seem to have to figure out more about the Liquid. So far I tried to port the Nexus One ROM and to boot a generic AOSP build. I repacked the boot.img's with the Liquids Kernel and of course changed the first line of the boot.img in the boot.img to "ANDROID!pk!". They just reboot without an ADB response. I guess there are some things in the Acer ramdisk which I'll have to figure out first.(Maybe in the init.rc) I think I found some things.. For example: # Permission for usb com port chmod 0666 /dev/ttyHSUSB1 Edited January 6, 2010 by maxisma

I think Paul is right. Donations should be done after the release of the ROMs, then the devs save up to purchase their next phone.

Yes good luck, but i think that you which are developing roms should work together in core, then when you get something functional you made your own forks
Guest Charlton22 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Acer claims that its gonna be an update until march on eclair. Sorry for being such dumb compared to you experts! ;p But what will be the difference from our 1.6 to eclair 2.0?
Guest amdnikos Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Sorry for being such dumb compared to you experts! ;p But what will be the difference from our 1.6 to eclair 2.0? multitouch capability, much better memory management, compatibility with new apps/games and overall a bit faster than 1.6 P.s i am not an expert,i am just trying. :)
Guest batista70 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Can we test the same even if without audio ???
