No 3g on AT&T (unless it has 1900mhz?) or T-Mobile, edge will work.

SMS and MMS should be fine.

Euro\Asian phones only work on 3g AT&T in areas that use 1900mhz for UMTS...if you ever do think about switching, call customer service and check if 1900mhz UMTS is offered in your area ;)

Also, make sure to get a dumbphone plan...that way you can go online and add unlimited data to your account and only pay 15$ a month instead of 30 or 45...that way they won't know you're using a "smartphone" B)

Definitely do NOT menion to them you have a smartphone or they will charge you more money B) Bastages!

or you can get an i8000L from Bell Canada which will support 850/1900 MHZ 3g coverage.

Really?  I didn't know that...damnit!

I switched to Verizon for nothing then!

BOO!!

I dunno why AT&T just didn't get this phone then...oh well.

Seems they don't really care about WM offerings.

Even the new LG expo is only available from them on order...no stores have it at all.

I just did some searching and I can't find any i8000L unlocked...so I'd probably have to go up to canada and buy one without contract (if they even allow that?) then bring it back and unlock it..meh.

Whoa dude! Really? I'm going to buy my Omnia 2 tomorrow Are you sure about that info?!

It's $550 from these guys, that's pretty big blow there I'm paying an extra $50. I really hope your info is true.

What do you guys think? 3g in America? no big deal if I have to pay to unlock it. Worth it if It's real 850 band and compatible with T-mobile america! :)

THANKS.

edit. nvm guys, it seems that even if it does work, the minute I flash to a nice custom rom, the 3g won't work anymore. Guess I'm stuck with Edge again.

Yeah that's the prob...all the roms are for the i8000, not the i920 or the i8000L...heh...

And it would NOT be compatible with T-Mobile USA 3g (just edge)...tmobile 3g phones need 1700mhz and 2100mhz...no other phones besides ones made specifically for tmobile work on their 3g network, since no one else uses the 1700mhz band but them.

The i8000L would only work on AT&T 3g and anyone else who uses 850\1900...maybe alltell if theyre still around or cricket.
