Guest zyclonenuz Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Ok first of all I'm a total newbie since this is my very first smartphone. Anyway my Samsung Omnia 2 I8000 is Windows Mobile 6.1 and I'm not sure whats up but maybe the Omnia 2 I got had the SMS Landscape disabled. Anyway so I followed this Landscape Screen To be able to manually rotate the screen in any application: go to registry hk_local machine – system – gdi – rotation; in key HideOrientationUi change 1 to 0. Then open Settings – Personal – Buttons and assign to any button the command “Rotate Screen” (you can see this option after you change the registry and only in winmo setting page) But I can't find the winmo setting page. I also don't know how to enable it. Can someone help me out here step by step ? I also saw this on the other thread and I already tried it 1) SHOW WINDOWS SETTINGS IN START MENU (AT LAST!!!!!! CREDIT TO MYSELF :) !) : Open any registry editor, go to path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\ Value 'HideSettings' Set to '0'.. and soft-reset... Voila! But I can't find the StartInfo on my registry since I'm using windows mobile 6.1. Mine has only HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell and inside Shell is RegFlush that is it. Guest zyclonenuz Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Since I'm having problem with sending multiple contacts via bluetooth I think its not available on omnia I8000. But someone also said You can send multiple contacts via bluetooth if you access the standard Windows Mobile Contacts instead of Samsung Phonebook (I don't know about Samsung Phonebook couse I never use it) My main question is where is the Windows Mobile Contacts located ? Please help me out guys :)

I would also upgrade to wm 6.5, it will make your life easier. Install PHM registry editor (free and simple), then you should be able to enable windows settings. Windows contacts are in the start menu (wm 6.5), i don't know where they are in the wm 6.1 menu. I'm almost sure that all the tips you found where meant for wm 6.5, although some might work on wm 6.1. forelli

Anyway I do apologize. I'm just really a TOTAL newbie when it comes to smartphone or windows mobile. My other problem is I don't understand what is what... Like I don't have a clue what is sms threaded, Flash ROM and more. Heck it even took me like a couple of hours to figure out that SMS rotation problem I had was called "Landscape Keyboard or Accelerometer sensor" My past phones were all Nokia's and I had them for about 2 years for each models so I'm totally clueless really. Anyway I did read the Omnia 2: Tweaks, Flash Guide, Suggested Programs, FAQ and searched that thread keyword was "windows mobile setting" and this was the result and I found this reply. "You have to use the WM Settings, not the Samsung Settings. If you using WM 6.5 rom, you need to first enable the WM Settings to appear on your Start Menu. (you can find how to do that manually or the CAB in the opening post)" So I checked the "Cabs for easy and fast Registry Tweaking" but I didn't find it unless So I did check the CAB on the opening post. And found nothing about the Windows Mobile Setting. As for the PHM registry editor I already installed it. I did try a couple more search and I ended up on this thread WM 6.5 / Tips & "De-samsungizing"That's how I figured out that something is missing from my windows registry. My earlier post But I can't find the StartInfo on my registry since I'm using windows mobile 6.1. Mine has only HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell and inside Shell is RegFlush that is it. Again I do apologize for the questions. It's just that I'm really frustrated. Selling the phone even crossed my mind (Check this out) I have been using google for the entire day trying to figure out what is what. It seems I am not using the right "key words" on the search engines. Basically I just want to figure out those two problem I have and then I'm all good. Its just that sending SMS with out using stylus is really hard and I saw a video on youtube how easy it was to compose a SMS message with a landscape keyboard. As for the contacts well really dunno where it is ;) I do want to upgrade to WM 6.5 I'm still trying to figure out how... And what is the risks. Coz I got this phone from HK (default language was Chinese they just changed it) and I don't know if I will still get the English version after I upgraded the WM to 6.5 One more thing why I'm not really taking those risk like upgrade and stuff is because the warranty is not covered here in our country (Philippines) since I got the phone on Hong Kong Edit: Also on the Samsung New PC Studio what is this update called ?? Is this the Flash ROM update ? Edited December 28, 2009 by zyclonenuz
Guest zyclonenuz Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 A big thanks to Tylwith. Now I have landscape qwerty keyboard and the multiple send contacts is now available (standard Windows Mobile Contacts) He really helped me a LOT !!! :) you must disable touchwuiz ui first then start menu settings. Where is the one for WM 6.1 ? All they have here is the one for 6.5: you don't need it on 6.1 go to settings /general settings /touchwiz ui and disabled it then when you click on start the standar windows menu should appear.from it you can access the windows settings
