Guest msra6la2 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Is there a tweak so that I don't have to see the honeycomb menu anymore? I absolutely dispise it and would love to have the samsung menu back when i click the start button on screen. My phone runs on WM 6.5 official Hong Kong rom and the rom doesn't link the start button to Samsung Menu (rather it links to the horrible WM6.5 honeycomb menu) when it's tapped. Any help on this will be great Many thanks Edited December 28, 2009 by msra6la2

You must be the only guy on earth who loves samsung menu and hates honeycomb. It may use ~5MB of RAM when open, but it's certainly laid out better and easier to organise than the honeycomb.
Guest gchris7 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 It may use ~5MB of RAM when open, but it's certainly laid out better and easier to organise than the honeycomb. Its a mess... You cant even be sure if you scrolled left or right some times because of how laggy it is. Honeycomb is smooth and thats what matters the most imo. Once you make folders and arrange your shortcuts on each one, its great.

Guest surgex Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) You must be the only guy on earth who loves samsung menu and hates honeycomb. Rofl I was thinking the same exact thing. The stupid touchwiz ui is sooooo laggy and uses really ugly backgrounds \ icons \ themes. It's pretty crazy what other devices have done with this chipset that the i8000\i920 uses... Wonder why theres like 0% gui gfx acceleration with our device? Also just a heads up to anyone else who reads this...a lot of these tweaks and hacks here can't be uninstalled, so the best thing to do would be to make a backup before installing such things, using spb backup or sprite backup. you can leave the internal flash alone and just back up your system. I understand why you guys hate the Samsung Touchwiz UI, but my phone has exactly the opposite effect: the honeycomb lags and looks stupid while the Samsung Menu works smoother
Guest msra6la2 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Here you can find a cab to install the wm 6.1 samsung settings to enable/disable touchwizUI so will this bring back the samsung menu when the start button is clicked? ie. in this video when the guy presses the start button, the Samsung menu pops up (instead of that shitty Honeycomb) Edited December 29, 2009 by msra6la2
Guest powser Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) I think we should all respect his choice instead of dissing him, even though I honestly don't think putting 5mb ram on samsung mainmenu just to make it faster is any worth it. But if you can't find the solution you want, maybe u could try some of those honey comb hacks that makes the startmenu display in a vertical list, or use something like iphonetoday (heaven forbid..) Guest .:stn:. Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 in b7610, its enough to choose touch wiz option as mentioned. My bro did so by a mistake and he had some problems with coming back to the WM menu:> Yet it worked, after "pressing" start he had samsung menu.
Guest alexovy Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Hi. Is there a way to have the clasic windows 6.1 start menu instead of the honeycomb for the WM 6.5?

Guest heretic2006 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 How do i make the folders in honeycomb? Make folders in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs, then move the shortcuts from \Windows\Star Menu\Programs to those folders.

Guest Man12529 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 hmmm this trick don't work in C4.. SG rom...
Guest sv0911 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Try Ameba. Download the 0.8 CAB and the scarecrow settings cab, AMeBa launcher and install. Run Ameba settings from your start menu and point it to mainmenu.exe (whether you copied it to \windows or left it elsewhere). That's it! Works perfect for me...!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...highlight=ameba Greetings sv0911 Edited June 24, 2010 by sv0911
Guest darkworldzz Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 hm take a look at the t*omnia thread.. http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...nmenu-exe-file/ or this about mapping it to a button, heres a detailed explanation: 1.Make a new folder in the windows folder at start menu, i named it FastMenu for recognition so now its like this My device--> Windows-->start menu-->Programs-->Fast Menu-->MainMenu+MainMenu Mui(dunno what the mui does but i added in just in case) 2.go Wm Settings--> personal-->buttons the rest is self explanatory u can scroll down and search for the MainMenu.exe file i mapped it to the hexagonal button in this case 3.u can alaso acess it thru the start menu in the folder(Fast Menu) u made 4.Enjoy.. this is my method as can be easily deleted when i want.. well theres other methods above.. which mapps over the start menu and i dont like it ;) on an easy way to map it to your hexagonal button.. this way you can use 6.5 menu and main menu by samsung!! or as mentioned by people just simply copy over to /windows and it will map directly..(?? not sure)
