Okay seems you guys have the same problems as i do. In my opinion don't update, the speed is realy a pain.

Initially it's really slow. I just change the background picture and everything goes back to normal. Not sure it'll worked for everyone. The carousel is very slow though.

Once restart, the speed is same as before, just only the carousel is damn slow, I already switch off the 3D acceleration, as I didn't seen any acceleration at all.

Overall still worth to updates, now it using WinMo 6.5 icons, which means all icon is nice and beauty.

Disable touchwiz, install Sk tools clean ram, got to registry LocalMachine\software\spb .... house 2\spb mobile shell\gl\ reflections key and give 0 than go one folder up do the same to hqreflections key you'll see the difference also you can try to install gpiofx and make the clock 475 "950" you'll be flying

Thanks this make the carousel faster (though no fancy reflections)! Do you know how to make the message 3d viewer have the 3d effect also?

Can you show me how do you do that? I changed GSensor = 1 in the registry but nothing happened. Still no bending on carousel while tilting the phone

in fact old version of Spb MS had the gl support too only you could activate it with registry but you werent able to select the screen you want besides you had the gl 3d messaging too with some bugs However in this version i couldnt manage to activate it maybe no more 3d messaging?

after i installed the new version 3.5.3,

when i go to launcher--> Settings

the icons for "personal", "system" and "connections" simply disappear, (or should i say appeared totally black and invisible.

Tried reinstalling few times and still the same.

The icons came back after i reinstall 3.5.2. Anyone having same problem?

Are you using winmo 6.1? That happened to me when I used it on 6.1. On 6.5 its ok.

Yes, you're right, i'm using 6.1.

So i guess they took care of 6.5 icons but forgot about 6.1 icons.

Well, anyways, i reaaly dont see much purpose for upgrading to 3.5.3.

The hardware acceleration for the carousel is a big "joke", really jerky.

And the carousel itself maybe a showy thing to impress people initially, but it has really no practical purpose.

It's much faster to tap on a function icon to navigate to a particular page, then to use that stupid carousel.

:)

Guys it's not a problem of SPB, the problem comes from the Samsung programmers! There is still no official new ROM for Omnia2 that provides better performance in directdraw/3d gles applications. For istance my old Omnia i900 plays Hd videos (480p) faster than Omnia2 in coreplyer !!!!

Coreplayer does not support opengl es 2.0 that's why omnia default media player which is compatible to es 2.0 performs better. Omnia2 was made to support es 2.0 which is better but unfortunately it is not backward compatible to es 1. Think since this is first edtion for es 2.0 from SPB, i believe they will release an update to rectify the problems.

Anyone manage to get haptic (force) feedback working with Spb Mobile Shell 3.5.3 on their Omnia II? To me this is more important than the 3D function, I mean I like the 3D function but it is just eye candy, more of "form" than "function".

The haptic feedback helps me know better if I pressed a widget or not even without looking at the screen, so this is more important to me.

Thanks in advance.

there is nothing relative between video playback and opengl. It's totally different things and not depend on each other.

You can boost video playback on Omnia 2 by switching to directdraw mode (which is also accelerated on Omnia 2).

it's right that Omnia2 has accelerated directdraw mode .. but currently CorePlayer doesn't support the S3C6410 platform yet .. so still no use ..
