Guest xkonni Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 I decided to abort. I try differet way but not result. I go also in ERD79. Upgrate to ERE27 and superboot but nothing. There I can't root my nexus. Superuser permission doesen't work. It is installed but he won't work. I think It need to restore completly the phone (how? I try to flash to ERD79 but also not work). I think there are some permission problme. Now I try to root from mac. if you update to ere27 and superboot for ere27 you will have root. unless there were some errors you don't talk about. what makes you think that you don't have root permissions?

I downgrade to ERD79. After I upgrade to ERE27 (i have 1 error on boot, image couldn't write). In ERE27 I superboot. Superpermission installed but not work. I upgrade this AR recovery on ERE36B. Superpreference now isn't here. Restart superboot for windows Superpermission on ERE36B but same problem. It's not work. I think there was a problem on upgrade from ERE27 to ERE36B (or installing Cyanogen Mod, now disinstalled) and I can't restore to all previous setting that give me the possibility to take the root. I think I have to restore the Nexus all to the original (HOW? I don't know) and after made the upgrade and the rooting.
Guest Fabio79 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 I made some change and It' workded. Thanks for the help and support. :D
Guest h11g Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 your kernel will be the same as u have not changed your kernel version, all u have done is add superuser permission, also, u dont say if you have unlocked your bootloader, the X with a padlock underneath. thanks for help. Guest xxICONOCLAST Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I have the same question. I followed all the steps to unlock the phone. Now when I boot up it shows the pad lock so i know that worked. Then i double clicked the bat file for superboot and it appears that worked because it said "okay". but im confused as where to go from here. I have an icon in my menu now that says "Superuser Permission". But when I click on it nothing happens. I just dont understand exactly where to go from here. All im trying to do is get the "Desire" rom up and running on my nexus one.

TIA

Guest Corey James Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Hey guys I wanted to get your input on some of the issues I am experiencing. First, I want to think Modaco for the opportunity to play with this rom. I just bought my Nexus 1 last week when I heard this rom would be coming out so I had the phone maybe 24hrs before I flashed the alpha 7 rom. Before I explain any of the issues I am having let me explain how I loaded the rom. First I used bootloader with ERE27 as I had updated my stock rom with the offical update. Then I did nandroid back up I then wiped and flashed the alpha 7 rom. Now I have been using this rom for at least two days and this is what I have found. 1. Sometimes I have a 3g or H signal but my data does not work. (example) I will be in the market and it will give me an error but it looks as if I have signal. Or I will be browsing the web and everything will stop loading. Sometimes after a few minutes data will work again. If not I just reset my phone and everything is fine. I am not sure if this is a rom problem or not because I didnt have my phone long enough to test the original n1 rom. 2. Today I had the opposite problem. My data was flying but I was unable to send a text or receive a phone call until I restarted my phone. 3. Battery does not last very long. ( I guess this is to be expected on an unoptimized alpha rom). 4. There are the other bugs everyone has mentioned and are not a big deal so for the most part this rom is far better than expected. I guess I just want to narrow down what my signal problem is. IDK if its a rom issue or if I need to flash a different radio version? I am also curious how nandroid works. Does it just restore your settings or does it restore a particular rom you have previously backed up? (Example) If I were to do a nandroid backup of my desire rom and then wipe, flash original nexus rom, and do a nandroid restore what would happen? Would I have original rom with programs and settings from desire rom? Final question I was curious about.. Is there anyway to use the 3d launcher from Android 2.1 without turning off sense? I was able to add the 2.1 gallery but would like to add the launcher as well. Thanks!
Guest bluepenny65 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) I am having issues with my Nexus One have unlocking it. I just can't get it to root properly.....using the Superboot.img in this thread or running "fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.6.0.img" from the command prompt. All I get when I boot into recovery is a black screen with android and warning icon. I'd have to pull out the battery and restart to boot up again. Can someone help here? Anyone...Paul? <img src="http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/849/dsc03224b.jpg" height=300 width=300</img> Edited February 24, 2010 by bluepenny65

Guest desaperados Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 For anyone else like me who's new to rooting I found a good overview which explains a bit more than just the bare essentials. You can probably find all this info in various forum posts but was helpful to find it all in one place. Rooting your Nexus One - a definitive guide
Guest hefeglass Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 i have a NOOOOBISH question..as I am very new to rooting and android in general.. I recently rooted my nexus one and used superboot.. (the nexus one was stock and i believe came with the ere27 radio.. I was wondering if it would be safe for me to upgrade to the ere36b radio image...like flashing the radio zip with recovery? Would i then need to re-do the superboot using the version for ere36b? Would the previous rooting I did when the phone had the old radio image be removed..and would I have to re-do superboot? I just wanted to verify that I can flash the newest leaked radio image to the phone while it is already rooted and running desire ROM and ere27? thanks for the help, im learning as I go and im loving android more and more every day!
Guest kwanying Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Install superboot + himem, but adb remount isn't working like older ver. Any fix?
