How do I enable sms notification I installed picto sms-chat and now mines gone.

Did you try Start Menu -> Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications tab ? On event select Messaging: New text message and select the settings you want (play sound, display message on screen & vibrate are what i selected).
