Guest XeOS Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Does anybody know how to get Navigon working on our phone? I have the version which supports WVGA, I know how to set the GPS, but the screen is a different story. It starts correctly (splashscreen) but then it flicks 90 degrees making only half the screen readable. I would really appreciate some help on this as I need it for trip registration. Thanks in advance!

It starts correctly (splashscreen) but then it flicks 90 degrees making only half the screen readable. I would really appreciate some help on this as I need it for trip registration. Thanks in advance! Hi, i have the same problem. It has appeared after i flashed a new ROM (J9). Same issue with newer ROMs (L2). Other users have reported the same problem, coming to the conclusion that there must be a compatibility problem between MN7 and new ROMs (with older ROMs like IB it works). I've sent an email to Navigon Support - waiting for an answer. Maybe a Windows specialist can explain the problem. It would be great if someone could help us. Yesterday something strange occured: i was trying once again to change the orientation settings in MN7, choosing 90° left. Then MN7 restarts as expected, but at the same time i received a phone call. The Omnia II switched to the phone interface, while MN7 was starting up in backgroud. After i ended my call, i switched back to MN7, and it had started in full landscape screen (no black part) ! I was really happy, then i closed MN7 and started it once again, in order to be sure that i found the solution, but then it started once again with a half black screen, as usual. => so the phone call that came at the same time as the starting up of MN7 has "influenced" MN7 and/or Windows so that MN7 started in full landscape screen. I'm not a programming specialist, but maybe it can be helpfull by the search for solutions... Ciao

That it works for you doesn't really help me :) Much appreciated if you could post these!
Guest WebReaper21 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 Maybe you should try flashing to a newer ROM (like L5). This one works for me with the default settings...
Guest jangada Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Maybe you should try flashing to a newer ROM (like L5). This one works for me with the default settings... Hello, does it work also in landscape mode on your L5 ROM ? Ciao
Guest XeOS Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Maybe you should try flashing to a newer ROM (like L5). This one works for me with the default settings... I have the L5 rom, that's not the problem. I think the problem is that the Omnia 2 switches back to portrait mode when opening navigon.exe. The navloader switches the screen to 270 degrees and after that it loads up navigon.exe, then it switches back to portrait mode :) If anybody knows how to fix this, please, please, let me know.
Guest Delvius Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) In a german forum someone found a trick to make landscape work properly. All credits to Skywolf. Use Orientation Detection and register Mobile Navigator (best is only checking the Landscape modes). In Navigon set Rotation 90° to the left (Normal Landscape). And now before starting Navigon hold your phone in Reverse Landscape (The opposit of what you set in Navigon). Now you should have the whole screen for landscape even when using IL5. It is strange but it works. (It works the other way around, too). Edited January 7, 2010 by Delvius

Maybe it's because of the Q4 maps, hmmm.... [edit] Not the maps, had to delete the POI folder contents, now it's working [/edit] Edited January 11, 2010 by XeOS
