Well, I'd say it depends on what you're looking to do.

I've had my shares of other phones. I've had Nokia, SE, Motorola, you name it. Mostly Symbian.

One day (almost 3 years ago) I've bought myself a PDA, a Fujitsu Siemens Loox N560. It was one of the best VGA devices with GPS out there on WM 5.0 . Playing with a lot of apps/games I understood the potential of WM and ever since all my phones have been WM (with the exception of a Nokia N95 which I gave up after a couple of weeks - just didn't work out). Previously I've had a O2 Orbit 2 and I recently switched to I8000 Omnia. I don't regret it at all, really I like the device. It's still in its infancy and has a lot of potential. I personally recommend it over HTC HD2 (which was my other choice - remember, O2 Orbit 2 is practically HTC Touch Cruise with a different body) because I found it to be too big and a tad heavy for a device with no keyb. Of course, HTC has better software coverage than Samsung, but this is mainly because of some people dedicated at XDA. Omnia 2 is a powerful device which is as media playback on par with HTC HD2 (even though the later should have a better speed). You will find a lot of people who will tell you that either of the two is better, so what I recommend if you're really into it is play with both devices in a store or somewhere else you can find them.

In the end, I like my Omnia 2 :)

The difference between Omnia 1 and 2 in my opinion is huge. Definately worth upgrading.

Still, you should consider the HD2.

I was lucky enough to play with both of them for about a week and my conclusion was that they

are both fantastic, yet very different devices. The HD2 with its huge capacitive screen plus snapdragon

plus the amount of RAM gives a fantastic WinMo experience even without tweaking/flashing, and the support

from both htc, 3rd party app producers and other users is huge, yet in my opinion is worthless in the

multimedia department (camera, video recording, video playback, audio playback).

The Omnia 2 is held back by some crappy Samsung software, especially the ultraslow widgets on today screen,

but if you give it some effort (new rom, new apps, some slight registry mods) you will love it.

If there are any flaws you can't do anything about, it's the glossy back panel which is a hopeless

fingerprint magnet and (at least in my country) very low quality of samsung support.

One more thing - the Omnia 2 (again, in my country) is around 200 euros cheaper :) So my (very informed)

decision was to stick with the Omnia 2.

Hope this helps.
