Guest castilla Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Hello, I'm a new owner of omnia II and I'm suprised that FM radio delivers a mono sound. The FM radio software doesn't have any stereo button. However, the SI4709 integrated chipset seems to be able to decode stereo signal. Could you give me a tip to listen radio with a stereo sound ? Best regards

Best regards I think Omnia 2 has already enabled Stereo Radio by default. You can check the registry HKLM\Sytem\State\Samsung\FMRadio\ST it has already been set to "1", and the sound coming from it is Stereo. You may've tuned into some Alternative Frequencies, thus, listening to the mono counterpart.
Guest castilla Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 I 've already checked this registry key and ST value is always equal to 0. ST key seems to be a state and setting it to one gives no result.I swichted on or off alternative frequency button in option menu of FM radio software with same result.
Guest castilla Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 it would be nice if some users tell me their own experience with FM Radio. Have you stereo signal ? Is your ST key equal to one when radio is running ? My omnia comes from deutchland and I use it in France, So it is a deutch ROM. Is it possible there is a mismatch beetween French ans deutch radio ?
Guest powser Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 Try changing the region to Japan. Seems to work for mine. In US mode it seems to force ST = 0. Us mode also seems to jump by 0.2 mhz. Report your findings and let others know if this "fix" works.

Us mode also seems to jump by 0.2 mhz. I tried three regions with the same result. The japan frequencies sweep is larger than others regions (76Mhz-108Mhz).... Could you tell me where do you live ?
Guest castilla Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Are there any others users who can tell me whether they receive a stereo signal and country they come from ? I would want to know whether my device malfunctions.... Thanks
Guest CosminV Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 maby you have a bad reception. With the radio set up to europe, if the reception is ok, the radio is stereo in headphones.
