Hey guys, i'm a new possessor of a Samsung i8000. After the first week of normal use and absolutely no falls, i notice a creaking noise if I press the bottom-left zone of the touch screen (Only that). Also when i wipe the screen with my t-shirt i hear that noise. Maybe it's a factory defect, or is there a way to fix it?

Anyone noticed the same? Thanks.

Yes i had the same issue at start. After 1-2 weeks it was somehow fixed by itself. :)

Lol funny B) I wish my phone will do the same XD

So you did no adjustements, nor disassembling things...

... mine does same thing - very annoying :)

Grrr, mine does this too (and at the bottom left as well) - I noticed it in the first week...it doesn't seem as bad now. HOWEVER, I think there is definitely an issue as there is dust collecting UNDER the digitizer from where the screen is creaking. I'll be visiting Bell tonight to see if they are willing to replace it or send it to Samsung for repair.

Mine does the same in the bottom right hand corner but not all the time! the screen seams to move slightly...other than that a fantastic phone...

Well, I got the typical "Sorry you're past your 30 days for over the counter exchange". Son of a b....I got the damn thing on November 25th. I was told to contact Bell's Customer support and they would have it sent away to a Samsung repair centre for repair (I still haven't done this). I'm a little reluctant to do this as I've had a bad experience in the past with Bell's "repair centres"...and I love this friggin' phone. I don't think I want to go the 2-3 weeks without it.

I'm debating doing the repair myself as I have some experience with it...and it doesn't look too bad based on the disassemble/assemble instructions I got from this site...and as an added bonus I would be able to replace the digitizer all at once (got a stupid scratch on it from the stylus).

Sigh, I'll be sure to post on what I decide...just not sure right now.

Enrico, do you see any dust collecting under the screen originating from where the creaking is? If so I believe you can have it replaced over the counter if you are not past 30 days from purchase.

Yes there is some dust, but even if I'll try to clean it, it will recollect for sure. Plus, I've found another (maybe) hardware defect:

the microphone stops working with loudspeaker On. So I'm bit unlucky with this phone :S

However i bought my omniaII on 24th december, but I doubt they will change personally at the store (I hope so), cause it's a little Vodafone Center shop. I think that the subsitution will pass through Samsung service.

Tomorrow I'll call them...
