3G instead of HSDPA

The internet connection on my N1 is showing 3G but the same sim card on HTC Hero is showing "H"

However, in about phone, Status, under "Mobile network type" it is showing as "HSDPA"

I am on UK O2 simplicity plan.

Does any one knows if N1 in UK is actually connecting on HSDPA or only 3G? The connection speed between the two are quite huge.
