Guest rul3s Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I bought a car charger and holder for O2, but I realised that doesn't work because something about data pins (http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizon-sch-i920-omnia-ii-http-i8000-modaco-com/294760/o2-wont-charge-through-generic-usb-wall-charger/) So people, could you help me to do the mod? I'm not worried about the if charger stops working, but I'm worried about O2 health. So here you are the photo od my charger pins. What should I do? Thanks you all!
Guest phj Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Shortening the Data Pins is the solution to charge the i8000 over an USB charger. In your picture instead of shortening there is a resistor, which is ( in the case the i8000 charging ) safer than the simple short. So you can change the resistor to a lower impedance one ( I dont see the actual value in the picture) or altenatively you can short the Pin2-3 ( I probed it, and it is working with my OmniaII).
Guest stu_2k1 Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Buy one of theses instead . http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/usb-car-charger-adapter-p2822.htm :)
Guest farookh Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 remove resistor short data pins but that connector will not work as its too big to go right in the phone as it touches the sides. I had to cut off the plastic connector quite a bit for it to work.
