How to Preserve i8000 Call History After Change of SIM

Due to work requirements I use two SIM cards interchangeably.

My problem is that on SIM card change the call history is cleared.

Is there any tweak for preserving call history on SIM card change?

Have you tried PIM Backup? http://bit.ly/EudMt

You can backup on your Storage Card and restore after you have changed SIM.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have used PIM Backup. It is a good software for backing up data, especially before I flash ROMs.

But since I change SIM fairly frequently, on average twice a week, sometimes I might forget to backup the call history before changing SIM and lose the incoming new phone number which I have not saved.

I owned a Nokia N85 before and it did not clear call history on SIM change. I also owned a Samsung D900 before and with firmware patch it could also retain call history on SIM change. Thus I am wondering if there will be tweaks for i8000 to achieve the same.

Hi Herick,

Do you have the problem with smart dial after you changed the SIM card? It cannot find the those contacts in call history which has been cleared by change the SIM card. If I use contact app to find it's still there but just won't show up with smart dial.

Thanks for your reply. I am using SPB Shell 3.5, and after changing SIM card the call history is cleared and I cannot find it from SPB Shell's dialer or call history.

Is "smart dialer" the name of the app or are you just referring to Samsung's default dialer? And what contact app are you using?

Hi,

Go to your root folder and find file "pim.vol"

Back it up on the storage card. It contains all incoming, outgoing and missed calls.

It also contains all your messages and contact information.

So we can backup and replace pim.vol when we change to a new rom also?
