How to update Firmware and WinMo 6.5 to 6.5.3?

There is no official WM 6.5.3 roms available so if you want to upgrade you'll need to use a custom rom.... generally all the roms custom roms here are good so you just need to pick one that is good for you and all the info on upddating is in the pinned topic http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...g-rom-on-i8000/

personally im using khuanchai's roms as i have been using them since the days of my omnia i900 and i find his roms best for me. if you already have a wb6.5 rom then i just recommend updating just the pda part or pda and csc.... phone part not much point as there arent any changes in it and the only time you really need to update is if you were going from 6.1 to 6.5 or 6.5.3 but in your case i dont thing its important to do it. but everyone is different i updated all parts... some people say they have issues if updating the phone part but end of the day you can always start again and reinstall the OS.

just final thought is that with every custom rom installation there is a chance of bricking your phone but i havent heard of it happening personally and never had any problems with the Khuanchai roms personally

but simply just follw all the instructions in the guide and you'll be fine.. just also letting you know is that most of the custom roms remove alot of programs and stuff that they find useless and add something else so read the post of the rom to see what is changed. Khuanchai for exaple got rid of Touchwiz (happy about it) and just left the settings menu from the samsung but customized it a bit (i think its actually better then original)
