Backing up current ROM

Hi. I need to find a way to back up current ROM of my phone if i will need to go to Service Center.

I don't want to argue about "Unofficial ROM flashing and void warranty".

I know that there is a way to dump the ROM, but it is not flashable AFAIK.

Is there any way to take a snapshot of my current ROM with all the sh*t installed and put it aside for the purpose mentioned above?

Any ideas people, I would be intrested in this as well. Would be handy to have a backup of original ROM.

To make rom backup,

you all can use sorg's utility from here to dump your current rom:

Then u can convert to flashable file using octan with tool from rodrigofd:

Cannot create\my Storage\.....

I am using a german rom!

Hi

If you have original ROM and you current ROM, you can use SpriteBackup.

I case of problem, you simply backup everything with SpriteBackup (even storage files and system state) and flash with "original rom"

After the service, flash back to you favorite ROM and restore with the same SpriteBackup.

For me, it works fine - Omnia i900 /16 Gb

Had the same problem. Maybe someone knows a parameter for this. You could change your language to english...?

changing the languige to englisch is not going to help. When you make an english dump you only get the english files, and you lose all the other languige settings so after flashing the dump you cant go back to german. Just use a HEX editor and look for the / m y s t o r a g e / r o m _ d u m p . b i n string and change that to the name you need. Worked for me to duch became / m i j n o p s l a g / r r o m _ d u m p . b i n
