Possible to Make SMS Notification Sound Volume Independent of System Sound Volume?

While ringing volume can be set separately from system sound volume, the SMS notification sound volume is tied to system sound volume.

This can be a problem if the system sound volume is accidentally set to very low or even muted, which is easy as system sound volume can be adjusted any time with the volume keys on the top left of the phone.

Can the SMS notification volume be independent of system sound volume?

yes, with the use of call profile programs.

There are heaps of such program out there. I'm using Photo Contacts Pro, and it allows you to set SMS volume, system volume and ring volume all independant of each other.

Or you could just copy the sms tone to your pc and reduce the volume with - I think the free software mp3gain could do that. Copy it back to your phone and your done.
