first time flashing i8000L

Hi everyone,

This would my first time flashing my i8000L from Canada. It's been working really well so far, the main reason i want to flash is because i can't receive chinese text messages which i believe i8000 doesnt have this problem.

the rom i'm planning to flash is a custom version of I8000UCHNIK3.

Just so i don't mess up, is this compatible? since it's i8000U, and also, should i flash ONLY PDA part?

yes flash only PDA part unless u absolutely must flash phone part. but there should be other ways to receive chinese texts other than flashing.

As long as you only flash the PDA part, you don't have to worry about anything. You can always flash back to Seceny's stock rom. Just make sure to go into the samsung Settings -> Network Settings -> Restore Connections so that your carrier data/sms/etc settings get loaded after the flash.
