Guest triplezoney Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 2 Year warranty?! Yeah right! Mine came with: If it breaks within 7 days we'll replace it. The 12 months it'll go back for repair. Where did the 2 year come from?! Also, because I bought it in the shop & 'had seen' it I waive my right to return it if I don't like it, whereas, buy it online you can return for any reason within 7 days... think not tmobile! Then again, trying to get around that would probably involve lots of ££££ & a solicitor!

Guest triplezoney Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Warranty leaflet came in the box. 2 year warranty direct with Huawei (SBE Ltd) Fetches box :) lol Still don't agree with tmobiles policies... Good job I love my Pulse! :)
Guest MrLowHoe Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) Is that a serious question, even after quoting that message? Hence "confirm". Thanks for bringing the warranty doc to my attention, excitement of receiving the phone made me not notice it haha I think that 7 day thing is if you have any problems to do with getting a good signal bla bla correct me if im wrong Edited January 19, 2010 by MrLowHoe
Guest triplezoney Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I think that 7 day thing is if you have any problems to do with getting a good signal bla bla correct me if im wrong Nope! Buy online & you can return it for any reason. Buy in shop you can only return it if it develops a fault! They claim as you've 'seen' it you can't say you don't like it! Anyway, I hope they do continue the Pulse or another carrier takes a stock!

And when i was thinking of buying it at my local store they make ya get £20 top-up ¬_¬ I was lucky when purchasing my pulse online. When i first spoke to someone on livechat i said i didnt want the sim beacuse i had a solo sim already but all they could do was get that tenner transfered to my solo account, so i said fair do's. My payment had some issues so i got a call and then i asked over the phone and the assistant was more than happy to remove it. But i still received the sim with £10 xD Anyway...I do hope I don't run into anywhere hardware issues =/ Btw the warranty doc says "6 months for batteries and chargers". Would they ask for the phone to be sent or send you just the battery?? An extra battery would be useful =| And has anyone found any pulse batteries floating around online? Edited January 19, 2010 by MrLowHoe
Guest mehall Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I bought my Pulse instore. The guys who had set me up with My solo set it up so i didn't need to pay the top-up money. I paid 137.01 and no more for my Pulse.

I paid 137.01 and no more for my Pulse. Wow, that's pretty cool. I noticed that the PAYG stand said you needed to pay £20 top-up, which caught my eye because i'd been online before hand. When I went to the till, however, I was only charged for £10, so £150 for me just like the online price :)

Guest Bakes Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Warranty leaflet came in the box. 2 year warranty direct with Huawei (SBE Ltd) You will want to check out the Sale of Goods Act 1979 also. http://www.berr.gov.uk/whatwedo/consumers/.../page38311.html If you can prove that your phone is meant to last more than two years (should be pretty easy), the warranty lasts as long as 6 years replaced by T-Mobile (not Huawei). That's my interpretation of that simple factsheet anyway.

Also UK Trading standards give 2 weeks for fault finding mobiles, not 7 days. Sales of Good's act put's fault fixing direct with T-Mobile NOT Huawei, so long as it was faulty upon purchase. But if you go into a shop and quote sales of good's act they laugh at you and say, well company policy over rides that!! Edited January 19, 2010 by klutsh
Guest mehall Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 You won't get T-Mobile to cede to Sales of Goods Act simply. Basically, here's how it'll work. You'll be forced to take them through Small Claims, and then if they think you've got a half decent claim (or a good enough one that the legal costs would be more than replacing the phone) then they'll settle with you. It WILL end up towards small claims, though whether you need to argue is dependent on each situation
Guest klutsh Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) Well this part for me applies: When will I be entitled to only a repair or replacement? You, as the consumer, have the option of which solution you would like, however you must not require the trader to repair or replace the goods if this would be too costly, as compared to another remedy. I ask for replacement, they said, no it HAS to be repair, this was on Day 8 of having it. After 3 weeks of my Pulse being away, they decided to replace it anyhow!! Also the 'loan' phone they give should be a like for like device, so as not to cause significant inconvenience, try getting a loan phone out of them that is legal to use in a car, let alone a like for like device. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/after_you...knowyourrights/ Edited January 19, 2010 by klutsh
Guest ajay_m Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Just had online chat session with T-Mobile and its been discontinued This evening, while I was in London, I went into two T-Mobile shops in Oxford St. Both had the Pulse on display. Both had stock. In both stores I was told by the salesperson - who struck me as reasonably knowledgeable, that the Pulse has neither been discontinued nor temporarily withdrawn, that they have stock, that it is a popular handset and that the price is still 139.99 PAYG. So, I don't know where the rumours are coming from but certainly their flagship stores are still selling them. After having had mine for about six weeks, I can only say, its a damn fine phone for the money. With the Amazon MP3 store now up and running on Android the lack of iTunes has just been resolved, too. And I love that after installing ES File explorer, I can wirelessly download MP3s from my main computer onto the phone. Frankly, this phone is very close to the iPhone in capability and insanely cheap. PS: if you lose the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor cable or want another one, Selfridge's mobile phone shop in the basement sells a Nokia headphone adaptor cable for 4.99 that is an exact replacement. (I know, cause I bought one and it works perfectly).
Guest robot1000 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) ^ Agreed. Only problem is the short battery life, but as I got it for £100 I can't complain Edited January 21, 2010 by robot1000

Guest Andy Jones Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 nah, there is a tell tale sign you are not talking to a robot.... Rachell: Hi there, my name is Rachell. I am part of the dedicated T-Mobile Online Sales Team. May I ask if you are enquiring about a new contract or an upgrade today? That's one of those template responses, fully punctuated and friendly. Rachell: The Pulse has been discontinued sorry That is missing a comma before the word "sorry". Rachell: The Pulse should be back on the site within a few days so I would just wait if Im honest. Missing an apostrophe from "I'm" and very badly constructed sentance! In general I was talking to a person, who didn't seem particularly friendly.....

I think that team may be based in the Philippines and its quite obvious when they use automated replies and personalised replied, like you pointed out!
Guest r.bobbington Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 I've now just had two seperate T-Mobile Customer Services people tell me that they no longer have any Pulses. I tried the sales line, but couldn't wait on hold for too long, so I didn't manage to speak to anyone. Has anybody heard whether or not the current stock has gone? Thanks for your email Robert, telling me that the link given in our previous email was not showing the update of T-Mobile Pulse. I apologise for the inconvenience caused. I'm sorry for the information given in our previous email regarding the T-Mobile pulse available for pay as you go customers. I'd like to confirm you that, the T-Mobile Pulse was use to be available on pay as you go. But, I'm sorry to tell you that, the T-Mobile pulse is not available for the Pay as you go customers as it is discontinued. I also had another Live Chat with someone else who basically gave me a link to the PAYG phone page on the T-Mobile site and said "look, it's not there, we don't do it anymore." Left hand... right hand...
Guest Spooke Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Just got back from my Local T-Mobile store, The woman said, It has been discontinued on Pay Monthly, however we have 2 left on Payngo at £139.99 + £10 top up, So I bought one :)
Guest gunark Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 I spoke to them Thursday - they had 80+ left on PAYG but wouldn't budge on the £20 top up. I got one (last one) from a shop today and was only charged £10 top up, which is fine as I'm using my Virgin SIM which did not require an unlock. I'll use the credit for a Haiti donation or something.
Guest jayjayuk Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 anyone know any shops in london still selling them payg, as i tried my local shop and was told they only had them on contract
