Guest venturerider Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Nice ROM. If BT works in my car it might just stay on my phone. At least until the official Hero 2.1 hits the streets. The are just so many things that work better in 2.1. I would love to find a digital clock that matches that weather widget. I'm almost convinced I saw one at some point. It matched perfectly, fonts and all. Edited February 4, 2010 by venturerider

Guest Shaon Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 CM-hero beta2 can be found here, for those who want to check it out. It has the latest synchronised sources, as there were quite a number of updates in the past few days: cm-hero-beta2.zip is it app2sd enabled?
Guest appel_ Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Got my first soft reset with beta2 this morning. Might be totally unrelated but I've attached a snipped from the kernel ksmg log, probably wont tell anyone much though. :\kernel_last_kmsg_log.txt
Guest ermacwins Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Lox's launcher is the exact same launcher as stock (4x4), with new graphics. That's it.. Also, please don't edit your posts.. they make the difference imo. why shouldnt i edit my post? id rather not double post
Guest jnwhiteh Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 is it app2sd enabled? It's the same as any of the other ROMS posted in this thread, in that regard. they make the difference imo. why shouldnt i edit my post? id rather not double post Because I had already responded, and did not see your change until I went back and looked again. That makes it too easy to miss something. I respond very very quickly to most posts.
Guest jnwhiteh Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 they make the difference imo. why shouldnt i edit my post? id rather not double post Also, your choices are the stock AOSP launcher, or CM's launcher. That's it, really.
Guest TheRealMac Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 just found another thing. ambiance light does not work, I can just choose a fix display brightness.
Guest jnwhiteh Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 just found another thing. ambiance light does not work, I can just choose a fix display brightness. That's not really new, afaik. I haven't seen that work in any of the 2.x Hero ROMS yet?
Guest karumbo Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 That's not really new, afaik. I haven't seen that work in any of the 2.x Hero ROMS yet? I think the option was there in one of the more recent KaguDroids, 1.2.x maybe. I'm not sure if it worked or not though, but I'm pretty sure a check box was present on the adjust brightness screen.

I believe he includes the proximity sensor application, but that wouldn't change that. That's not my understanding either way, can you check again? If it's there, we should be able to compile it in as well.

Menu-->Settings-->Sound & Display-->Brightness. There's a check-box labeled "Automatic brightness".

Guest Carl_Brummy Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Hi, i have downloaded the KaguDroid version of 2.1 but notice it does include some work from yourself. It is quite stable and has only the same issues you have mentioned on yours (camera, 3d gallery etc.) Which is the more feature complete version? Also, they have a link to 1.9 google apps sources. Would this be better included in your download? Google 1.9 sources from Htcpedia Cheers, Carl.

In short, they're quite literally the same at the source level. 1.2.1 Kagu is the same as the cm-hero betas I have been posting.
Guest Shaon Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 jnwhiteh: bro i have wiped data and ext3 and installed the cynaogen rom. but i find the internal storage is decreasing after i install every application. it was 0 mb used when i installed the rom and now its 40mb used. and i installed root explorer and found out that no sd directory inside /system. then i wiped and re-installed rom again and found out that no sd directory created and i dint even find any app2sd script in the rom as well. could you please have a look? cheers
Guest Unika Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 jnwhiteh, I've installed your latest beta, and tested bluetooth file transfer. It works (both sending and receiving) with every other phone I could find. So, please keep that in mind. Thanks.
Guest nilmunny Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 I have tried Installing this ROM a few times, wiped the phone and did an apply update. Phone never gets past the splash screen when i reboot... Have i totally missed something here?

I'll fix that in the future. Nothing is automatic, you have to explicitly enable app2sd using the script, which does exist. I have tried Installing this ROM a few times, wiped the phone and did an apply update. Phone never gets past the splash screen when i reboot... Have i totally missed something here? Which ROM? There's quite a few listed, and it really does matter.
Guest nilmunny Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Which ROM? There's quite a few listed, and it really does matter. Hey sorry man, its the one on the original post, aosp-2.1-jnwhiteh-r4.zip
Guest jnwhiteh Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Hey sorry man, its the one on the original post, aosp-2.1-jnwhiteh-r4.zip You shouldn't be stuck in a boot loop, really. 1. Wipe data/cache 2. Flash the ROM 3. Flash the GoogleBits 4. Boot
Guest venturerider Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Two questions: 1. Regarding the changes to build.prop for the US as suggested in the first post, does this apply to Canada as well? 2. Mention was made of an update.zip to install cyonagen's multitouch browser. All I could find was a post that listed three files to download (apk, so and xml if I remember correctly) and instructions to install them. I did not find an update.zip per say. Can we have a link? And which browser is it? I assume it replaces the existing one.
