Yes i did a rom dump from my phone with Sorg's application. But in the folder OEM_Lang_0407 is no iniflashfiles.dat.

It has to be there. Did you enable in Windows explorer to view hidden, system files?

Anyway, I have attached this file extracted from langugage pack from PDA_I8000NXXJC1_HW_40.MST file (but it should be in your folder, otherwise you can't build the rom).

initflashfiles.rar

Something is not right with your Windows Explorer settings then.

You can edit the file using my application (if you have the path set for you text editor) - this will also change file attributes so you will be able to see it in explorer. You will have to delete from initflashfiles.dat all entries for the files you deleted as well. You should also delete entries for Opera in 38b19348-4733-495e-ab3a-3f3479efea44.rgu (oemapps folder)

Just to confirm:

You selected in explorer 'show hidden files, folders and drives'

You de-selected 'Hide protected operating system files'

it is possible only to back up the pda and eboot part follow this guide to do that:

hey man, thanks for your response. thats a good guide, but my 2GB Omnia ICON (GT-I8000T) doesn't have a hidden partition. is there another way of doing this? or getting hold of my original firmware (PDA etc) from Samsung somehow? Ive tried through FUS and no go...

strange, i only setted to Change Page Pool, adjust the size of the xip.bin but when i pack the pda has the bug that it start with titanium and old colors, mainmenu and some others files disapeared..... why? i have to dump xip.bin, realloc etc...? or not?

i only changed pagepool, changed a registry hidesettings to 000000... build pda, and realloc the imgfs modules, save, than finish the building....

where is the mistake :S :)

Try building rom without selecting 'adjust the size of xip.bin'.

Also change settings in ExtReloc as described in first post.

You only need to reallocate xip if you are changing OS, otherwise you just reallocate imgfs modules.

strange, dont worked, still getting the strange/bug windows...

1) Dump Rom

2) Change PagePool and Disable Cert Check

3) Start, Realloc Modules (using the new options of flag L)

4) Finish

5) Update with octans

did it 3 times and all the 3 times get the same thing ;S

later i will delete everything and start again :| i cant find where is the problem :) ;)

What rom version are you using?

-So the only change you made is registry change 'Hide settings' changed to 0.

Can you archive this rgu file and attach it to your post.

-Plus change of page pool (what value?) and certificate check?

Any other changes?

What is the size of your new pda.nb0 file.

I will try to build the same rom if you give me this information.

i8000 JC1

Changed in the OemApps\38b19348-4733-495e-ab3a-3f3479efea44.rgu

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo]

"HideSettings"=dword:000001 to 000000

[x] Marked change page pool 20mb to 8mb

[x] Marked disable file signing/cert check off

RUN

[x] Use packages.cif for reloc imgfs

[x] Use flag "L" for imfgs

Realloc Imgfs modules

Save .vm .rom

NewPda.nb0 = [red]302.023kb[/red]

i tested it now doing this and still getting the bugged rom :)

looking the program and the file created, if i remember in older versions it automatically add the header in the file .nb0, maybe this is the problem now, i will try selecting to add the header

Edit2: worked fine the rom now, before marked to add the header to the file and the newpda.nb0 = 316.513

Thx wes

So I don't know what was wrong, because the application adds always the header when you build the new rom. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to flash .nb0 file.

wes, i was wrong, it still not working...

try this

dump JC1

change the hidesettings to 0

and build, it should create the PdaNew.nb0 with 302.023kb

for me its not working, a bugged windows still :)

what i said in the last post was wrong, i was doing a mistake that overwrited the newpda using the old rdump.bin

I will try it but I want to do the same thing as you did. Which rgu file did you changed? Can you archive and atach this file?

Edit:

I tried it, changed hidesettings to 0, changed page pool to 10 and patched certificate check. Everything is working fine.

My file size is 308,449 (rom dump is English, 0409 i8000NXXJC1). If you had your language set to other than english when you dump the rom from you phone, you may have your file different size.

I hope, that when you change registry file you save it as a Unicode.

It tells you what is wrong in the message before (bellow, because they are written in the log file in reverse order) the error message.

D:\i8000kitchen\I8000NXXJB1\XIPTools\xipNewOS_21008\xip.bin not Found

You are porting new os, but you didn't put xip.bin from new os in the xipNewOS_21008 folder.

If you could upload somewhere original rom_dump.bin that you are using to build, and PM the link I could try butild it using your rom.

It is hard to tell you what's wrong if you didn't write what you were doing.

It looks like there is something wrong with xip.

What rom are you using?

What changes did you make?

What settings did you use?

Are you porting new OS?

Could you build it again (you don't have to flash the phone since it didn't work), and when the build is finished press 'Save MsgLog' button. Then archive MsgLog.txt file (should be in your rom directory) and attach it to your post.

Edit: If you were porting new OS, did you select 'Port XIP from new OS' and 'Delete osaxst0.dll' and 'Delete hd.dll'?
