I get alot of missed calls recently due to the 3sec ring delay on my stock WM6.5 Omnia2. By the time i knew my phone was ringing, and when about to answer, the others parties had already hanged up... :) So everytime i gotta tell my family members n frens whenever they want to call me, they gotta hang on to the phone longer until i pick up due to my 3sec ring delay... :)

I have tried alot of registry tweaks, but unfortunately none of it works...

Why... Do u guys have the same situations like me?

Hopefully some experts here would like to dig into this matter and got a possible fix for it.

Million, million thanks!

Hi,

It's an issue I faced as well when using the default WM dialer, change it back to the default Samsung Dialer, refer to the Taachan's FAQs

Bro... U mean by using WM dialer actually cause the 3sec ring delay?

I didn't find any solution.

Only way is to edit your ringtone and make the initial 3 seconds louder than normal (that's what I did)

Where's that Taachan's FAQs? And is it done by registry?

Actually it's longer than 3 seconds. I have another phone with the same number in my bag. sometimes it rings for 2-3seconds before call notification appears on the screen and it takes few more second to hear a loud call.

Relax guys, big fonts are easy on the eyes!

Btw, I tried the hard reset, it didn't work for me.

But setting back to the Samsung dialer does work for me. Check "Disabling the Samsung dialer"

in Taachaan's FAQ, which would show you how to. To re-enable back the dialer, just set it back to 1, unless the cook removed the entire program instead of just the regedit.

http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...d-programs-faq/

I am testing out KStan's rom, which is quite decent, comes with default Samsung dialer. Only problem it kinda hung up when I have another incoming call( which is a problem with the latest SPB 3.5.3)

btw, sorry Tachaan, I didn't try your method, but have you tried to call yourself with another phone. you will realise the i8000 call notification only start to react after 1.5 to 3 seconds, if you are using the default dialer. The person who calls you will hear the ring tone, but on your i8000, you will not see any notification until 1.5 to 3 seconds later.

I am using ring and vibrate profile and it seems to be the case with ring only profile.

Samsung dialer for me atm.

I can also confirm using the samsung dialer is more responsive than WM Dialer. The low volume ring alert is still there but the phone starts ringing almost instantly.

Thks bro!

Hmm... Shld we say the WM dialer is the main culprit for the 3sec ring delay?

Jux came across a veri interesting tweak at mobinaut forum. Might give u a try out later.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0

Change 'Script' from 'av0pw3r' to 'av0pr' and you'll get 0 sec delay.

OR change it to

av0pw1r = wait for 1 sec

av0pw2r = wait for 2 sec

and so on...

++

Edit :

Here are the ringing codes

a - stands for display

r - repeat/replay the script again

c - sets the volume C50, c150, c100

f - means flash .. f1 flash for 1 second and f0 stands for flash continuously

p -means play ringtone

v- vibrate then incorporate with number to state how many seconds it will vibrate example. v3 vibrate for 3seconds or v0 for continous

w - stands for wait or pause then specify how many seconds like w3(wait for 3 seconds)

here are some examples

Flash - af1w60f0

Ring - apw3r

Ring Once - ap

Increasing Ring - c50apw3c150r

Vibrate Then Ring - v3w3apw3r

Vibrate - av3w3r

Short Vibrate - av1w3r

Vibrate Long Then Ring - v3w3v3w3apw3r

Vibrate And Ring - av0pw3r

Increasing Ring And Vibrate - c50apv3w3c150r

Fast Vibrate And Flash - af1v1w1f0r

Vibrate and Ring Continously without pausing - av0pr

I made some tests today:

- WM dialer is indeed 1-2 seconds slower to react to a incoming call while Samsung dialer is almost istant

- the above registry tweak only change the vibration pattern (non stop vibration)

Anyway the Samsung dialer takes my free ram from 55mb to 45mb... not possible to use it for me

Also editing the ringtone to be louder for a couple of seconds helps a bit

Hmm... At least we come to a conclusion of the cause WM dialer react slower then Samsung dialer when ringing while the Samsung dialer takes up pretty much ram...

It's in dilema which to choose...

Hi,

Thanks Titus,

Editing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 Script and Script-oemringtonegap seems to do the trick in mi O2, althoug there is still a small period (<1 sec) during which the sound is low (increasing tone).

I have rom version IJ9 and SPB Shell 3.53 installed.

what are the values you entered for it?

Ring - apw3r (The bold '3' is the sec of ring delay. Change to '2' ~ '0' to reduce.)

Ring Once - ap

Increasing Ring - c50apw3c150r

Vibrate Then Ring - v3w3apw3r

Vibrate - av3w3r

Short Vibrate - av1w3r

Vibrate Long Then Ring - v3w3v3w3apw3r

Vibrate And Ring - av0pw3r (Same as above. Juz with vibrate together. Change to '2' ~ '0' if u want vibrate n ring together)

Increasing Ring And Vibrate - c50apv3w3c150r

Fast Vibrate And Flash - af1v1w1f0r

Vibrate and Ring Continously without pausing - av0pr

hi again,

I can confirm it's working. I used values

av0pr for ringtone0

and

w0 for Script-oemringtonegap

Anyway, I am using stock ROM version IJ1 instead of IJ9 as I said (sorry for the mistake).

hope this helps
