Guest Titus62 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 I get alot of missed calls recently due to the 3sec ring delay on my stock WM6.5 Omnia2. By the time i knew my phone was ringing, and when about to answer, the others parties had already hanged up... :) So everytime i gotta tell my family members n frens whenever they want to call me, they gotta hang on to the phone longer until i pick up due to my 3sec ring delay... :) I have tried alot of registry tweaks, but unfortunately none of it works... Why... Do u guys have the same situations like me? Hopefully some experts here would like to dig into this matter and got a possible fix for it. Pls help! Million, million thanks!

Guest Uboy Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 People suggest editing your ringtone, I tried that using Audacity on my PC. It worked up to a point but what helped the most was changing the settings so that the phone rings for longer before the call is directed to my answering service. Settings/Phone Settings/Voice Call/Call Forwarding.

I have the Verizon (1-920) version of the Omnia ii and the way I fixed it is I went to Settings / Phone Settings/ Voice Privacy and turned off Voice Privacy. With it on and testing from my land line my phone would pick up on the second ring or later and with it off my phone would pick up on the first ring. However, the Voice Privacy screen states: "Voice Privacy: Allows you to select the level of encryption used when making or receiving phone calls. Enhanced mode offers more security but can be associated with network delay while the advanced encryption if encoded or decoded." So with it set to off you have less security, and I suppose people could listen in on your calls easier, but no network delay. Anyone no of any other down sides to turning this off. I'm not too worried about someone listening in on my conversations as nothing all the important is being discussed.
Guest FerdiBorbon Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 i dont have that voice privacy settings ;) could it be found via registry?
Guest Titus62 Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Verizon I920 is different from I8000. I can't find the (Settings / Phone Settings/ Voice Privacy and turned off Voice Privacy) too. Anyway, i personally find this problem pretty amusing. Many talented experts willing to spend lost of hours n head banging on wall to crack diffcult formats, solutions n tweaks... But nobody juz wan to lay their hands on this issue... Funny.
Guest FerdiBorbon Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 well Titus, funny thing is it was actually fixed with one of the official 6.5 roms a while back, i forgot which one, but yeah 1 ring from the other side and my phone rings instantly.. im on 6.1 rom now, i have no ringtone delay, but i have that 3 second network delay... very important to remedy this...as im on call for work and i cant miss any calls!

Some of the i920 owners could try to find this option in the registry and let us know?
Guest chriswells13 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Some of the i920 owners could try to find this option in the registry and let us know? I have an i920 and I'll take a look, but I don't mess with the registry much. Someone more knowledgeable than me, let me know where I should be looking in the registry for these settings.
Guest Khisha Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 I have flashed JB1 phone part only today. I can confirm that my O2 is ringing now almost at once with my other phone. It was 3 seconds delay before O2 was waking up. Unfortunately the loudness of first 3 seconds is still there.
Guest jebise Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 i noticed the 3 sec delay only happens to me when the phone is locked, otherwise it rings just fine.
Guest 2ksilverbullet Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) I have an i920 and I'll take a look, but I don't mess with the registry much. Someone more knowledgeable than me, let me know where I should be looking in the registry for these settings. I turned off the Voice Privacy on my i920 immediately after purchasing the phone. I was experiencing somewhat of a delay, but not much. I don't know if it alleviated it, but I figured it was worth it to have it off in case it did help. You don't need to turn it off in the registry, just go to the Samsung settings, Phone, Voice Privacy and unselect it. To turn of in stock WM6.5, go to Settings, Personal, Phone, then it's under the Services tab. Not sure if this helps, but this was what I found relating to the Voice Privacy: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone - I have a VoicePrivacyNotification entry (set to 1) Hmm, that didn't change when I turned it back on... That was all I could find in the registry. Edited February 16, 2010 by 2ksilverbullet
