Guest Nesousx Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 thank you so much for your help nesousx, i really appreciate you taking the time to help me out with this sticky situation! Check my edit. Redownload and reflash with radio only (the new one), if it stays the same. Try with a "fully packaged" rom.
Guest Paul Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Nice and simple, here's a kernel for the stock ERE27 with himem enabled. - Built using the stock kernel config - Built using Cyanogen's excelletn himem kernel sources - Built with superboot (su and superuser APK_ and updated wireless module deployed via superboot script Nice and simple to install, run bootloader (power on with trackball held down) and run 'fastboot flash boot boot.ERE27.superboot.himem.img'. DOWNLOAD Enjoy! ;) P

Guest superwario Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Check my edit. Redownload and reflash with radio only (the new one), if it stays the same. Try with a "fully packaged" rom. I did try to redownload and reflash the new radio, did not work. Where can i get a "fully packaged rom" at? With the fully packaged rom, do i simply put the rom on my sd card and clikc flash zip from sdcard from the recovery menu? thanks!
Guest superwario Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Himem patch! http://android.modaco.com/content/google-n...h-himem-kernel/ P What does a Himem patch do? And where does this patch fit in along with with the series of installs? for example, Main update>RadioUpdate>Himem patch>insecure boot> superboot ???
Guest Paul Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Added Superboot with himem to the ERE27 online kitchen. P
Guest huey-t Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 You sir, and Cyanogen, are smartphone God-sends!

It almost doubles your RAM by enabling the unused second bank of RAM. Install last. You only need insecure boot OR superboot OR superboot himem. P
Guest p7x Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 I'm currently at work without access to my laptop with ADB on... is there any way to flash this without flashing over USB?

Guest Peter sf Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) Exactly the same here. 1. Tried MAIN Upgrade zip, hung at boot. 2. Flashed back to modaco 1.3, everythings fine. 3. Baked complete zip - hangs at boot. does it make sendse to wipe first? Answer to self: Yes it does. Flashing worked, Multitouch works, still rooted (baked ROM). Missing some applications (The ones I didn't get from the market, I guess) and some data, but I looked in awe as everything slowly came back from google online backup... Now doing a Nandroid-restore, hoping that will take care of everything. (well, it did. Kinda. the updates, sadly, are gone with the data coming back. I didn't know nandroid restores EVERYTHING. I thought once the device is flashed the stuff will stay - obviously, Multitouch in apps is gone again...) Back to square one... Edited February 3, 2010 by Peter sf
Guest ascito Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 @ Paul Hi Paul, I made my donation so I baked my rom with superroot and new Radio. I had on my nexus one last Cyanogen b4. After flashing all seemed to all right but I couldn't have Calendar app to work and facebook sync. I reflashed the ROM but with no success. I decide to make a wipe and reflesh the ROM. I loose my configurations and apps but now everything seems to work. I also installed terminal app, I wanted to verify ram su I gave command "su" and # came up. I gave command cat/proc/meminfo but it returned: not found. If I give command /proc/meminfo it returns: permission denied. What is wrong? THX!
Guest metatron Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 It almost doubles your RAM by enabling the unused second bank of RAM. Is that stable now ? I thought it was still a bit dicey ?
Guest AndyCr15 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 I'm sure you don't need me to do so, but confirmed working ;)
Guest Paul Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 No issues here for me, but obviously try it out for yourself, and revert if you have issues! P

Guest biltongboy Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Thanks very much for everyone's work on this. After putting this ROM on my phone the performance has gone through the roof. The touchscreen works better, apps load faster, there are a few bugs but I can see in a couple of months time this will be brilliant. Cheers.
Guest Paul Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 cat /proc/meminfo works for me (ERE27 himem superboot)... # cat /proc/meminfo MemTotal: 395388 kB MemFree: 128604 kB Buffers: 61792 kB Cached: 85304 kB SwapCached: 0 kB Active: 132784 kB Inactive: 98628 kB Active(anon): 91940 kB Inactive(anon): 0 kB Active(file): 40844 kB Inactive(file): 98628 kB Unevictable: 0 kB Mlocked: 0 kB HighTotal: 0 kB HighFree: 0 kB LowTotal: 395388 kB LowFree: 128604 kB SwapTotal: 0 kB SwapFree: 0 kB Dirty: 0 kB Writeback: 0 kB AnonPages: 84328 kB Mapped: 54328 kB Slab: 18080 kB SReclaimable: 13756 kB SUnreclaim: 4324 kB PageTables: 7612 kB NFS_Unstable: 0 kB Bounce: 0 kB WritebackTmp: 0 kB CommitLimit: 197692 kB Committed_AS: 3136084 kB VmallocTotal: 385024 kB VmallocUsed: 124260 kB VmallocChunk: 228260 kB[/code]
Guest Paul Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 You can also verify with 'adb shell cat /proc/meminfo'... my output right now is: # cat /proc/meminfo MemTotal: 395388 kB MemFree: 128604 kB Buffers: 61792 kB Cached: 85304 kB SwapCached: 0 kB Active: 132784 kB Inactive: 98628 kB Active(anon): 91940 kB Inactive(anon): 0 kB Active(file): 40844 kB Inactive(file): 98628 kB Unevictable: 0 kB Mlocked: 0 kB HighTotal: 0 kB HighFree: 0 kB LowTotal: 395388 kB LowFree: 128604 kB SwapTotal: 0 kB SwapFree: 0 kB Dirty: 0 kB Writeback: 0 kB AnonPages: 84328 kB Mapped: 54328 kB Slab: 18080 kB SReclaimable: 13756 kB SUnreclaim: 4324 kB PageTables: 7612 kB NFS_Unstable: 0 kB Bounce: 0 kB WritebackTmp: 0 kB CommitLimit: 197692 kB Committed_AS: 3136084 kB VmallocTotal: 385024 kB VmallocUsed: 124260 kB VmallocChunk: 228260 kB
