Guest pulser
There have been quite a number of posts relating to this issue, both here and on xda-dev. I've created this poll to see if we can find out how widespread this issue is for users. Essentially, people report that after flashing a custom ROM (maybe with radio), they are no longer able to connect to the phone via USB. Also, the SD card is no longer recognised by the phone. These issues persist even after booting into recovery, and reflashing does not seem to cure the problem (although reflashing can be difficult with no SD card to store an update.zip file on). The phone is not hardware damaged, since it is possible to connect to the USB interface of the phone using fastboot, and it is possible to use the SD card via the HEROIMG.ZIP method (part of fastboot), so this seems to be a strange software issue. Please vote and say if you have had this issue before, and add anything you think may help or be of interest. Some examples of this issue: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...4/no-adb-no-sd/ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556335 http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...nothing-at-all/ http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...rom-bootloader/ Thanks in advance, Edited January 19, 2010 by pulser
Guest Enty76
Good initiative! Need another option on the last question though (sent in but not received anything back yet) so couldn't vote :) In my case it happened on a phone that had: - Stock 1004 hboot - Custom recovery rom (flashed a couple of times) - Been flashed som 10-20 ROMs before, mostly Modacos, but also tried aosp-2.0.1-jnwhiteh-r6 and HERO21-1.8 - Flashed a couple of radio updates - Flashed a good bunch of skins - Performed a fair bit of nandroid backus/restores Contained Modcao 3.0, JU radio, RA-hero-v1.5.2 recovery. 1. Flashed Modaco 3.1 2. Flashed Wavesecure 3.0.0.43 3. Flashed clearlockscreen29.zip No reboots inbetween, then rebooted and problem appeared (no adb, no sdcard except in fastboot). This _might_ in fact have been the first time I used the RA 1.5.2 recovery to flash, as I used cm-hero-recovery before and never bothered updating it until this Christmas.. Now I'm waiting to see what HTC does, the shop told me it could take up to 4 weeks, argh :)
Guest pulser
Good initiative! Need another option on the last question though (sent in but not received anything back yet) so couldn't vote :) "Took you a while to spot that one, didn't it Wilson?" (see http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Dad%27s_Army if you don't know that one :) ) Thanks. I've edited the poll for now. Hope you get yours sorted out. Hmm. As for AmonRa version, it's possible, but I reckon unlikely, since this problem originates in September (one of the links in my OP was from about 5th September IIRC). We just need more details from people who have had this issue and we may spot some trends. Cheers Edited January 19, 2010 by pulser
