Guest janmpj Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Sorry for my bad english :) . Do you ever want to change the lockscreen (and possibly Start Menu) wallpaper but maintain the current background (main) wallpaper :) ? I've noticed (maybe) the Black Samsung i8000 Omnia II (2) can change the lockscreen wallpaper from a menu in Start > Settings (do correct me if I'm wrong). But for the White Samsung i8000 Omnia II (2) it doesn't have that menu :) . Warning: This steps maybe cannot be implemented in certain Samsung i8000 Omnia II (2) phone. But so far, it worked on my White Samsung i8000 Omnia II (2) 8GB. And as far as I know, it NEVER EVER HARMED my phone. So it supposed to be a SAFE method. But either way, do please a backup before you proceed (just in case). :) THE STEPS 1. Set the wallpaper for the main screen by going to Start > Settings > Display and Light > Wallpaper. 2. Choose the picture that you prefer and click on it. You could do some adjustment if you want (such as resize or select some area to set as the wallpaper). 3. Click "Done" after that and a message like "Wallpaper has been updated" will prompt. Click "OK", "Done" and "Exit". 4. After that, go to Start > File Manager > My Device > Windows. 5. Scroll down until you find the *.bmp file named PhotoAlbum.WallPaper.bmp (or PhotoAlbum.WallPaper1.bmp). 6. Copy the file to your storage card. ***** The previous steps is for creating a PhotoAlbum.WallPaper.bmp to set as the Main Screen at the end of steps. ***** 7. After done copying, redo the steps 1 - 3 for the lockscreen wallpaper. 8. Then go to Start > File Manager > My Device > Windows. 9. Scroll down until you find the *.bmp file named PhotoAlbum.WallPaper.bmp (or PhotoAlbum.WallPaper1.bmp). 10. Take note of the PhotoAlbum.WallPaper.bmp (or PhotoAlbum.WallPaper1.bmp) name. 11. You will use this file name to rename the file you copied on the storage card (refer to steps no. 6). 12. After you rename the file (on the storage card), you copy (or move) it to the My Device > Windows folder. Do take note you can only overwrite the file on My Device > Windows folder using Resco Explorer or Total Commander or etc. only. If you use the default File Manager, it will rename the file you copied or moved. If this happened so, then you might need to delete the file in the My Device > Windows folder and rename the file you copied (or moved) from the storage card again. 13. Do a softreset and voila. You will see the "magical" result. P/s: There are maybe a more simple way in order to do this, but so far these are the steps I found on my own :) . Do try it and enjoy :D .
