Guest jebise Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) as the title says, i have main menu opening up on boot, how can i disable it as i don't intend on using it useless memory being used. Also i got the chiniese screen rotating app, and would like to add that on boot instead how can i have it so it just starts? Or is the a better screen rotating app out now? last but not least i downloaded a remote registry editor but can not use it to edit files (tried the screen rotation manual trick) please help me out EDIT: i just put autorotate.exe in the startup folder and it worked when i booted it now if only you can do it without the the Chinese ui and have it done automatically. Guest lifemaximum Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 have a look at /Windows/Start Up/ Folder on your device That is where the programs you want to start at boot are usually located , if i am no mistaken by adding the programs to that folder and removing them , you can stop them from loading. Same goes for the Samsung Main Menu , just remove the link file it from the start up folder and it shouldn't boot again.
Guest jebise Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 i checked there and there is nothing that resembles the samsung start menu. Also what is a good registry editor, i would like to have rotation set to a button but could not change the setting when using a remote registy editor.

Try "Resco Registry" , that is what I use , or you can also try "Total Commander" ( I think that is what is called), some people say it is better. here is the link for Total commander btw it is free : http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm Edited January 21, 2010 by lifemaximum
Guest jebise Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 total commanader looks like a remote registry editor, yesterday when i was trying to do it with a different editor it always said kept saying access denied. I would prefer to do it on my computer rather then installing it on my omnia. But i will try it when i get home? any clues to my other issues?

B) Activesync I don't know... it doesn't spend that much memory anyway...
Guest jebise Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 well with spb and mskip both running i get 57MB free on boot which is alright but if i can gt even a little more it would help. Also its just annoying when i plug it into the pc
Guest b7610_fan Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 you can put activesync on your pc in guest mode. so it doesn't ask annymore for a parnership or 'make connection' stuff. but really disabling activesync.. hm.. don't you use your calander / email etc ?
