My Storage is GONE!

out of no where, the my storage folder on my phone is gone. i did hard reset, its still not there.

is this a hardware problem? should i contact samsung for a replacement? i flashed 28008 on the phone would that affect my warranty??

Flashing build 28008 will void your warranty, however flashing back to your original firmware would not. I remember lost of my storage folder is solved in one of the thread in this forum before. Did u try eeprom reset? *2767*3855#

If the solution given not solving your issue, the only choice is send back to Samsung Service Center as it is hardware failure issue. I am one of the victims as well, did you purchase your phone in 1st badge? as I know only 1st badge user facing this problem.

Without the My Storage, you not able to flash any Secany firmware also as it needs My Storage to store the backup file for use when you choose another languages.

For better solution, don't flash any firmware and return back to Samsung Service Center for fixing.

i think my option here is to send it for warranty. but how do i flash it back? would any i8000L rom work? or the one that came with my phone originally? which was i8000L...J6. if anyone have any i8000L rom i only need the PDA part. please share it.

Need to send to samsung service centre. They will change a new storage for u :)

Cos last year Dec i play my omnia 2 download n uninstall program when my hp left 16%.

Then suddenly 'my storage' lost... Ever u do hard reset still cannot come back. Dun waste time,

just go samsung service centre. :) But i was very lucky that they change 'my storage' to 16G :)

I was told by the Samsung engineer that the internal memory for "my storage" was an integrated part of the main board and could not be swapped and that they could only repair internal memory by replacing the whole board and as such I would lose everything...

If they managed to swap it on yours then did they do it by swapping out the whole board or is their a slot internally for their memory to go?

Same too. They change the whole thing. New "My storage" all data was samsung video n other(defualt memory)

They will not do your memory back(photo,music or other...). They also will nt give you back :) .

Seems like this is becoming a common issue with the GT-I8000... I just got mine back from the service center, at least it was just an overnight job. The technician told me it was just a module and it was plug & play that's why the repair was fast.

If this trend keeps up, then it would also seem that Samsung used sub-standard quality modules for the secondary memory... :)

already tried, but there is no removable disk in file explorer. only in the device manager - but "device could not be started" (or something like this - is german) I've also reinstall the drivers etc.

on the O2 I've got 0MB as well.

Did all things possible based on numerous forums before concluding that the hardware was dead and bringing it to the service center....

ujst had the issue, lucully i could detect it via my pc, and format to reinstall ( but it disapered from nowhere as i had been unsing JA1 rom for 10days .. and then no message of some sort and i just lost all my storage ....:'(

You were lucky that it was detected on your PC, when I tried that it would not even show up as a USB storage device that could be formatted... B) Anyway, all is fine now, but if this happens again I may consider ditching my O2 for a Nexus One probably :)

my O2 is gone ... to the service center. didn't hear anything yet, but ....

@Greg330 i've flashed my to JA1 few days before too :/

could it be that there is something going wrong by disconnecting the device from PC (i never disconnect my USB Sticks, HDDs ... by software - just pull it out) ?

or is there something with JA1! my O2 was a bit faster (...) after flashing - could it be a bit overclocked?

anyway - i'm waiting for more info.

My 16GB Storage suddenly vanished for me yesterday :) This is defo a problem with the O2...

I haven't tried any custom roms or anything, so guess it's not a particular JA1 problem.The symptoms I experienced were a very laggy phone. Then I restarted, and suddenly My Storage were gone B)

I also read on another forum in my country, another guy experienced the same just 2 days after he purchased the phone. On the same forum, a guy installed a custom rom, hardreset the phone a couple of times, and then suddenly My Storage where back...

So, I read that Secany needs My Storage to flash, but can it also be a Storage Card? I'm planning to get one today, and see if it works...

Lost "My Storage" again, for the second time on the same phone. Maybe the fault is not in the "sub-pda" with the memory module but somewhere else, I hope they exchange more parts this time.

after three weeks i've got my o2 back .. new 16gb and "updated software" - PDA: I8000NXXIL1 CSC: I8000DBTIL1 PHONE: I8000XXIK3 :D

does anybody know, how to check, if this is the official one ?

yesterday I losed my 8gb storage, after I flashed a cooked 6.5.5 rom and do a hard reset, now I don't get more secany's rom updates, only pda part of cooked roms is flasheable without my storage. :D
