I've read in this topic (http://www.modaco.com/content-page/300828/vzw-omnia-ii-my-take-full-review/page/20/) that some people say's that his O2 or Verizon i920 is made of glass, is this true? Or they've got confused?

Mine it's plastic, for sure, and my omnia (2nd version) had much better screen sensitivity.

What about your's?

There are no Omnia 2's made of glass. Omnia 2's (both the american and international versions) all have resistive screens, meaning that glass isn't an option. Resistive screens rely on the pressure provided by an object (e.g. finger or stylus) to allow a user to interact, therefore there must be some sort of flexibility built into the touchscreen overlay. As you can imagine, glass is very rigid and has little or no give. Only capacitive screens can have glass (which is most probably not actually glass, but a polymer that is like glass but stronger and more resistent to breakages).

B) YEP thats what i thought i guess thats why when i asked some guy in another thread,if his screen is cap.or resis. he never answered me,lol, but he is an expert, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!goodlord :) QUOTE(fireonhigh @ Jan 22 2010, 12:44) *

''That said, the Swype keyboard along with the smooth tempered glass screen on this device makes for faster texting than any other phone I have ever used.'' I am using i8000 from singapore and mine is plastic,,you sure you have a glass screen?

Absolutely certain that the USA version of the Omnia II, i920 screen is tempered glass. The i910 was plastic which sucks for touchscreen.

Resistive screens can be made out of glass too. It's just the top film layer that is made out of plastic. Lotsa users out there with cracked screens on their PDAs or PDA phones can justify to that. My treo and some of my PDAs have glass resistive screens. The one that flexes is not the screen so read up more on the resistive screen pls.
