Guest mdkpnj Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 I am having an odd problem with the i920. I changed the power settings for Battery to dim after 30 seconds. It holds for a bit, and after an hour or less reverts back to the default 15 seconds. There have bene no software installs, soft resets, etc. in the meantime. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.
Guest Uboy Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Yes same issue, but on i8000, strange.
Guest mdkpnj Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Do you use SPB Mobile Shell, I was wondering if it started since I installed that?
Guest Uboy Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Yes I do use mobile shell, been using it for ages without a problem and then I recently upgraded to 3.5.3. I hadn't considered the connection but you could be right it was definitely around that time that I first noticed it. It does seem to be a bit sporadic though.
Guest GunnarKarlsson Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Mine had that problem too. after a lock the backlight timeout was set to 7, regardless of mine setting before the lock I changed the following registry key to 0 and got rid of the behaviour. HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel\LockLevel and the usual disclaimer when modifying the registry, please backup, be careful, dont blame me and Good luck //Gunnar
Guest dwallersv Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I just encountered this problem after enabling the native WM6.5 lockscreen. Every time it locks, and dims the screen, it sets my dim timeout back to 15 seconds. Could it be doing this with the Samsung lock too? I had been using S2U2 with the Samsung and 6.5 locks disabled. I'm trying to get the native 6.5 screen to work as I want because it is skinnable, so I can make it look and lay out like I'd like, but uses a lot fewer resources than S2U2.

Fixes it for both the Samsung lock, and the native WM6 lock. Now, if we could only get it not to dim...

Thank you, thats a great tip. I noticed my setting is at 0 but I am also not having the problem after a hard reset after uninstalling MS 3.5.3. The hard reset was needed, the uninstall itself did not do it. Long way around I guess, but I got there. Thanks.
