can i restor backup file?

I have never flashed the rom before, but I'd like to try for JA5. Here are a few newbie questions before I start.

1. Can I simply restor the programs I installed before? It was also WM6.5 but I don;t know the exact rom- It was already flashed when I bought it from someone.

2. I live in Canada and the phone is unbranded (unlocked). Which CSC choice should I make?

3. Is it necessary to flsh ebot? I read the warning in this thread. Although I believe it is unnecessary, I just want to make sure.

4. How about the phone part? Should I flash it too? I ask this because it seens my current one is defaulted to Singtel.
