1) Download the PDA part for you phone from the secany thread (last one 25/01/10 NXXJA5, its on the final of secany post HERE)

ps: read the whole topic to see how to extract the .mst file from the downloads part

2) update your phone using the .mst that will come from the pda download parts (use octans mini to update)

ps: search for how to use octans mini to update your phone, btw i will explain below...

a ) Turn off your cell phone

b ) Remove from usb

c ) Open octans

d ) Select ONLY THE .mst file extracted from step 1)

e ) Click in DETECT

f ) Connect you phone in the usb than turn it on

g ) wait till it detect or show in the phone that its a update

h ) CLICK START ( AND WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES UNTIL IT REBOOT, you configure the language, etc.. and wait till octans say "JOB DONE")

3) After that the phone will start updating and when its on the Setting up the Languege screen you will have to options below:

a) IF YOU DONT WANT TO COOK DIFFERENT FROM ENGLISH LANGUAGE ROMS, jump to step 4°

ps: first try cook english roms to dont have to do the stupid fight with the automatic language chooser.... and to learn first...

b ) if you want to cook other language roms, be carefull and be very fast in the screen of setting up language, after some minutes, will restart the phone than pop up a screen to choose the language, you have to be fast, press DIAL KEY to select another language in the list or END CALL KEY to go up, its hard coz its a stupid process that will try to select english language automatic if you dont select your in 1~2seconds(yes, its the most idiot thing in the earth, why the hell you have to fight to select your language?). When you finished, it will update your phone with the secany rom udpate in the language that you selected...(ps everytime its freeze or you select wrong message, before it start updating, soft reset the phone)

4) Now use dskdump.exe by sorg to dump the rom_dump.bin in your cell sd card read here for help

put the file in your storage(put the dskdump.exe in your storage, the important is the sd card and it must have about 500mb free)

and run the aplication using the omnia, and wait till it pop up a message saying "FINISHED" and in you sd cart will have a file called rom_dump.bin (its the file that you have to disassemble, edit, and assemble to get custom roms =D )

PS: after here doesnt need more tutorial coz Wes did one that is excellent :)!!!

So... Ummm...

How do we make sure that we were able to delete all associated files and registry entries for a program when we want it removed? I've been wishing for an ULTRA-NAKED ROM based on whatever the newest official Samsung ROM is. And when I say ULTRA-NAKED, I meant it would just have the bare essentials.

Default contact application

Default calendar application

Default tasks application

Default messaging application

... etc

I want all widgets, Samsung applications (except for Camera and FM Radio 'cause you won't be able to use them otherwise), MS add-ons (Office, MyPhone, Facebook, Windows Live, Windows Market Place, etc), and games (bubble breaker and solitaire... But leave the folder itself 'cause I like the icon, hehehe!) out.

What's the point of this? A super-customizable ROM with no unnecessary baggage. I'll probably just install Resco Contact Manager, Photo Manager, and Explorer 2010 on it + a few games and a few very light social networking programs like Palringo for chatting, and Twikini or Twaddle for Twitter.

i got succefully made a "custom rom"

but i dont know why, i only removed the podcast and everything related to podcast, but everything gone haahha, the default today is TITANIUM, in the startmenu only had the TODAY hahahahah, camera and phone worked fine, but all the rest, lol has disapeared, cube, mainmenu..... etc... =(

someone know why? i only removed podcast.exe, .png, .lnk and from mainmenu.db and initflashfiles.dat, whyyyyyyyy? :)

Obs: who will try the other tutorial, in the end, it say to get the checksum using the 010editor, DONT USE IT, it return a invalid checksum...

use the o2tool by rodrigofd and use the command "o2tool.exe -checksum pda.os.nb.new" and invert the result (read the .doc from the thread that lancez posted)

I would suggest you use wes58's tool for starters.

It is much easier as it also allows you to port OS.

When i have time i will post images. (: That's all folks

On a side note : Sense 2.1 ROM please do not ask when i will be done. Currently busy with studies. Thanks

i got a working custom rom, without podcast, and midomi, working very well....

i will do some more tests and post the tutorial that what i did...

the problem now is editing provxml files :|!! it sucks, you forget something and all the file fails, so you will get a ""bugged" rom working, but very bugged
