Guest Kaidao Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Hi Everyone, I need some help on how to troubleshoot a Windows Media Play Error and some queries on my Samsung Omnia II. I am using the default Samsung Omnia II ROM with Windows Mobile 6.5. Device Details: PDA: I8000NXXIJ9 CSC: I8000XSOIJ2 PHONE: I8000DXIJ1 Windows Mobile Details: Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional CE OS 5.2.21863 (Build 21863.5.0.67) Error on Windows Media Player. How to go about troubleshooting. 1. Got the error yesterday and hard reset my phone and manually wipe out "My Storage" using the Samsung Settings. 2. Installed .NET Compact Framework 3.5. 2. Resync my music (Source is ripped from my CD's with encoding as 320k MP3, Sync setting at 128k) 3. Tried to play "Song A", Windows mobile crashed. Tried a few other songs. Some work some don't work. Tied looking at properties of songs that don't work, windows mobile crashed as well. Properties work on songs that manage to play. 4. After it is installed, Windows Media Player will keep crashing. Anyone know how to fix that? Thanks.
Guest Kaidao Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 *sigh* thought I had it resolved. Still doesn't work. :) What I did last night was to. 1. Hard reset the phone 2. Test WMP to be working properly. 3. Add a little customization. Enable SupportFrontCamera, Enable AutoRotation UI, Enable WinMo Setting. 4. Test WMP To be working still. 5. Do a sync of my music. 6. Cancelled the sync halfway as I had to use my phone. 7. Woke up this morning to find WMP crashing again. B) Is there anyone using Windows Mobile Media Player with .NET Compact Framework 3.5 without problems so that I can narrow down the causes? I am not a smartphone developer and am new to smartphone "customizing". But I do have plenty of experience with troubleshooting Windows OS. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks drunkenmonkeyonacid for the info. At least now I know it's not .NETCD 3.5. Can I ask u if you installed .NETCF 3.5 into the main storage or my storage or storage card? Thanks.
