Guest jebise Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) Is there any way to remove the album art from the touch player library? I just wanna see the art in the now playing and not in the library. It would be great is there was a way to remove the album art so it just a giant list of music. Reason i ask is because it makes scrolling through 2000+ songs is so SLOW and i think it has to do with the album art. I really love touch player, dunno why samsung had the idea to have a list with album art and not give users a choice. Also if someone can recommend something that is better at least for music, i really do like touch player it these little thing that ruin the omnia name. Edited January 28, 2010 by jebise
Guest nipip Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Same here, impossible to scroll large lists. Also the artist view show individual songs instead of albums (like ipod) with the same effect.
Guest wick220 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I completely agree. I LOVE the touch player, however it's quite annoying scrolling through even a small list of items. I don't want to change the player I use, would rather have it fixed.
Guest jebise Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 after a bit of search, people say is you update again it and let it find the files it helps, I can say it dose not to much though but makes it barable

Guest jebise Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) thats not what i'm really looking for, i don't want to delete the actual album art folder just remove it from the library so it just a list and no pictures. But when you play a song i would i it to show the album art there, just there and only there. Just need a list of text in the library and album art in now playing. But that tool will help for directory reasons through. EDIT: yeah i was right it has to do with the album art showing on the library list, i went in "My Storage\Program Files\TouchPlayerImage\" and hit delete and it started to delete all the bmp album art files after that i opened touch player and what do you know the browsing speed is excellent and no lag what so ever, but now i have lost all my album art which is a bummer. Can't someone hex touch player and some how get it to remove the album art from the library list so we are not forced to delete album art or make it put dummy art instead. Just for the library list, like have one of the default pictures in a different folder (music note/symbol) repeat in the library but when you play a song it grabs the art form the real folder, i guess make it point to a different path just for the library list. I also noticed if you go through your entire library once from top to bottom and then try using it the lag goes away until you play a song and then need to go back into the library. EDIT AGAIN it dose not work on the new secany JA5 rom installed it on device and my storage. tryed to run from folder as well, but app crashes Edited January 29, 2010 by jebise
Guest wick220 Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I just took a look inside the \My Storage\TouchplayerImage\ folder. No wonder the thing goes so slow, why are ALL the BMP files 384KB? Shouldn't they be like 2-5KB each because the display size is what 30x30 pixels? I'm wondering if modifying the size of the BMP files would make a difference. I'm unable to test for 6 hours or so...anyone care to?

I'm wondering if modifying the size of the BMP files would make a difference. I'm unable to test for 6 hours or so...anyone care to? It makes a huge difference, i rezised all my images to 50x50 and the player was almost prefect maybe i will try 20x20 to see if the lag goes away completely and i think it lag because it's resizing the images in the libraray which explains that if you scroll trough it once the lag goes away coz the images get chased. But there is a reason why it generates at 256x256 and that is because of "now playing" the size there is 256x256. After loading them and playing a song the album art looked blurry and pixelated due to the reduced size in "now playing" . for this i have to possible solutions aswell 1.) hack it so that it generates 2 images one at 30x30 for the library and another at 256x256 for "now playing" and it knows which one to pick up. This could be a simple hex that has a sub folder in the touchplayerimages called libraryimages and all the images stored there are at 30x30 which would make it prefect. Or again just have it point to that folder and not have it generate anything is also fine, by doing this there should not be any images that it finds in that folder so no images get displyed in the lirary thus no lag, while "now playing" works as normal. 2.) Hack the "now playing" section and just reduced the resolution size so it only displays at like 100x100. I don't think it would be that hard to do as we have done more complex things then this already. Note tread at xda-dev: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...269#post5486269 EDIT: yes using 100x100 and it's at least bearable you still notice it the lag but not as bad as before. I think the best solution if just somehow hack it to remove the images from the library list. I know you guys can do it. EDIT: After a bit more testing i thing the easiest solution until we figure out how to remove the album art in the library list is to hex the resolution of the now playing to display album art at 100x100. The lag is still there but very slightly noticeable but best solution we have. I still want the album art removed from the library list to get the best of both worlds Edited January 30, 2010 by jebise
