Hey!

For some reason my I8000 doesn't make any sound or vibration when I receive a text message and it doesn't

give any sound when I get a call, however when I get a call it does vibrate.

I've tried and tried over and over again seeing whats going on in the settings, but its all properly setup there,

the sound is on, the profile is correct, in the samsung settings page its all correct, however when I go to

windows mobile original settings and go to the call ring tone/vibration for instance etc. it doesn't want to preview play it there for some reason no matter what ringtone I try? Though in the samsung settings it plays/previews the settings perfectly, yet it doesn't work when I get a call or text message

I would really prefer not to hard reset now if there could be a solution for this, I'm running on

Khuanchai's 6.5.3 28305.

Any input is appreciated, I've tried searching around but couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

Disable the Samsung interface, try again and re-enable it. See if that fixes it. This looks like a specific issue for that build.

Hi!

The samsung interface is not existent on this build, I only have access to the actual samsung settings pages etc.

and not the touchwiz (which I dont use anyway) and I have no idea how to disable and re-enable the samsung settings page if that is what you mean

thanks for replying

Hi. Before this happen, did you just listen to music with the headphone plug in? if its so, it could be the jack problem, try plug in the headphone again and pull it out slowly from the jack. I think I had this problem once before and it did solved the problem.

I'm also getting the same problem recently. I had mine updated to WinMo 6.5 at Samsung service centre with SPB Shell installed. Been running with no problems for 4 months already. Suddenly in the last week or so I found that most times the phone would only vibrate without the ringtone, usually while charging or connected via the USB cable to the computer. And when i try to play shows or music using the media player, there is no sound too. Definitely not headphone jack problem since I have had nothing plugged in to the earphone jack.

Once I do a soft reset, everything is working fine again. Today I encountered the same problem while charging my phone. However, within a few minutes, the ringtone came back again when a call came in. Didn't need to reset this time however. :)
