Guest Kings Lee Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Finally... After being nagged by the update prompt for a day, and read in a Hong Kong forum that 2.0.1 can be rooted with the original method, I decided to try it out like this: Remount the file system in rw mode Renamed the otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak in /etc/security Remount the file system in ro mode Then I pressed the "Install Now" button. My milestone rebooted, and attempted the update. The progress bar went to about 25% and then the white exclamation mark appeared, the phone rebooted. The phone booted up with a "Update failed" box, and a strange error in Maps app which I've never had. The nag went away. Seems nothing else changed.
