problems with my htc magic!! Unrooting!

okay my htc magic is a vodafone branded one, now its a 32b model motherboard.

its updated to donut 1.6 so in order to unroot it and install custom roms i will have to downgrade to cupcake first.

1- HTC sync doesnt work but all drivers are correctly installed

2- i verified by installing android sdk using this link: http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-se...ndroid-devices/

tried these commands "adb devices" in cmd and the serial number showed

so acording to that link the second step was to download

since mine was on vodafone, i cudnt find it anywhere so i tried the rogers file, it gave an unknown error.

so my question is is there any alternate option of unrooting ??
