Guest Sotirakos Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 (edited) Hello everyone, I have an i8000 2GB I bought from the UK I'm situated in Nicosia Cyprus island My specs: PDA: I8000NXXII9 CSC: I8000XEUII9 PHONE: I8000XXII6 Bluetooth (2.0 + EDR) S/W: 2.0.3 H/W: 2.0.1 Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g) S/W:1.1.0.1 H/W:1.0 Windows Mobile @ 6.5 Professional CE OS 5.2.21856 (Build 21856.5.0.65) Processor: ARM1176 I cannot synchronize on my Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit machine. I don't have MS Outlook installed (I only use "The Bat!" email client) When I enable ActiveSync on my i8000, my PC finds it as "Samsung MITs USB Sync". Then when I start Windows Mobile Device Center nothing happens it - it doesn't get connected. I have also tried Samsung New PC Studio which also doen't detect it. The i8000 gives me a Synchronization Error saying : "To synchronize this device you must install ActiveSync 4.5 or newer on your desktop computer." Also another problem is the Shortcut Widget got corrupted somehow and I cannot load it - it generates an error. Can you also point me to an uninstaller for my smartphone? Guest grahamkdt Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 For your connection issue, try updating Device Centre via Microsoft web site. You should be using v6.1 (I think that's the latest). Install this before connecting your device to your PC. On your device, goto 'Settings', 'General Settings', 'USB Connection', select ActiveSync option and Enable advanced network functionality. Then goto ActiveSync settings on your device and delete any partnerships you may have. Open Windows Mobile Device Centre on your PC and delete any partnerships you may have set up there. Now connect your device and all should be good :)

Synchronize all PCs using this connection (there is a drop-down list here): Choice1: `USB Choice2: `USB Default And on my PC Windows Mobile Device Centre Allow USB Connections = Selected Allow connections to one of the following = Not Selected This computer is connected to : Automatic Allow automatic device authentication = Selected Allow data connections on device when connected to PC = Selected
Guest Sotirakos Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Works: On my device: ActiveSync >Connections> When cradled Synchronize all PCs using this connection (there is a drop-down list here) = ticked: Choice1: `USB Choice2: `USB Default (selected) I just synchronized with Windows Mobile Device Center - 64-bit on my other machine - Vista Ultimate 64-bit which means the device is setup ok. Doesn't work: My device here doesn't connect to Windows Mobile Device Center. Same setup for Windows Mobile Device Center as the previously worked (64-bit machine) configuration. The laptop PC setup only recognises a network device as : "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter #2". The case is on my Vista Home Premium 32-bit - laptop.
Guest Sotirakos Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 problem solved - I deactivated Agnitum Outpost firewall. Anyone know what rules should I insert for firewall ?
