for this rom you don't need to partition your sdcard at all.

if you want to use app2sd at some later stage, you should still do it now (or partition with things like gparted, so you don't remove stuff from your card).

i haven't bothered partitioning my card yet, as i dont think i'll need to.

Thanks for the info. Will partition and install MCR 1.5 now

My phone will NOT boot up after installing this ROM.

I've tried baking 3 variations in the kitchen, I've tried running off a clean wipe, I've tried installing over the stock ERE272.

I just get stuck in a colorful Nexus loop over and over again.

What gives?

Try wiping, try omitting A2SD.

Maybe its just me, but i feel that my Nexus one is a bit slower after i've flashed MCR 1.5... does it have something to do with the partitioning of the SD card? i created a swap file and ext 2 of 512MB hehehe ;)

@Paul:

I've got a question....

We want to theme your file, but it's odex'd.

Is it possible, to give it deodex'd to us? Than we can make good themes for it.

Enomthers and Cyanogen ist deodex'd, but I want a MoDaCo ROM....

If it's possible, it was really nice.

Pardon the newbie question, but when you say "try wiping" -- what do you wipe exactly? I want to do this as well but I'm afraid of wiping too much and bricking the phone.

Yep! Works great! Thanks for the reply. What settings are you using to get 24+ hrs? I got about 48 with auto-sync disabled and no GPS unless I need it on stock ERE27, but I haven't given it a run with auto-sync enabled.

The ROM definitely feels a bit snappier, nice work Paul!

[EDIT] Just to make sure everyone understands me here: I do achieve at least 24hrs all the time except when I do something really cpu extensive over a long period of time (a few hours with phone not asleep at all and rendering stuff) or if I have voicecalls more than 6hrs during the day...But I rarely go under 12hrs in any of these cases.

I have everything turned on (autosync, gps, wifi , bluetooth, etc.) all the time (yes, you are reading correctly, all the time !) even K9 mail with push enabled on 2 IMAP accounts. I use Y5 to auto turn on/off the wifi radio.

I use setCPU and told the phone to use maxCPU=minCPU=245Mhz while in sleep mode (I believe it helps overnight - Thx Paul fro the idea)

Also have Seesmic auto update on @mention and DMs only and with a 30minutes pollign interval

Not using much "realtime" widgets, just analog clock, some picture frames and powertime

Apart from that nothing special.

Also I use wifi for the network connection 90% of the time and from my experience, 3G+ drains a lot more battery than wifi...

In fact If I don't call a lot (voice calls eat a lot of battery also...) my battery lasts even more : 48Hrs+

I do lots of email/sms on the phone and occasional web surfing when no computer nearby.

Also I use highmem kernel, don't use A2SD and don't use compache.

Hope this helps.

guys, just forget about swap, A2SD !

NexusOne doesn't need an y of those !

With highmem kernel you get around 400Mb RAM ! And I have installed a ton of application without exhausting the internal storage !

Just backup your SDCard FAT32 data to your PC, repartition your SD card as a single FAT32 partition through Settings/SDCard/Format and restore back.

Really you don't need any of those...

Perform a factory reset through Settings/Privacy Settings.

Or use the Wipe menu option in nandroid (make sure you do a backup first).

Thanks teknologist... will do that tomorrow morning ;)

Any suggestions on the optimum setting for setCPU min and max speed? (to get the best of every world heheh). Probably someone could do a research. e.g. these settings are for surfers: min = ?? max =??, these settings are for gamers: min = ?? max =?? (just a thought)

Leave all by default, just change the one for sleep mode to avoid the cpu jumping to 1Ghz in sleep mode

It was probably APPS2SD then. I had that baked into all the ROMs I created.

However, me not being one to let a problem slow me down, I just downloaded your standard 'with Modaco Additions' ROM and uninstalled the stuff I didn't want.

Maybe I'll do some baking later on.

For now, I'm good though ;)

Wow, that's impressive! I'm going to start tinkering with things to see what I can get from the battery with various settings.

Thanks!

Am I missing something, or is the kitchen not showing up for anybody else right now?

It's showing perfectly for me.

Cool, thx. Had to make sure it was just me before I started beating my computer with a hammer...

Turns out NoScript was blocking romraid.com, which killed the kitchen for me.

Problem solved! ;)

Too late for that... i did a wipe and then reinstalling MCR 1.5 n everything seems fine now ;)

was it because of the setCPU where i used 256Mhz as the min and max?

I doubt it... I use 245/245 while aspleep for a few days and not a single reboot!

Of course you do, you are the one that advised me to do that ! ;-)

Waiting for MCR 1.6... ;-) I can't live without Modaco additions...So no ERE36B for me for the time being...

If you read over at XDA, AmonRA did a diff:

AmonRA performed a quick diff between ERE36B and ERE27 :

Changes :

- New Framework

- Applications : HtcCopyright.apk , Mms.apk, Vending.apk => Messaging app and Market

- Binary files : applypatch , debuggerd, NOTICE.html.gz

- Libs : libaudio.so, libhtc_ril.so, libril.so => Radio and Audio libs

- New Radio
