Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Hey Paul, any chance that you make your roms themeable as it was at hero?
Guest Paul Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Effectively adding a odex'd or not option in the kitchen? P
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) I think I would love you, if you can do that! :D Edited February 14, 2010 by Formel-LMS
Guest Paul Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Updated to 1.6! Now based on ERE36B and using teknologist's custom kernel. P
Guest teknologist Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Updated to 1.6! Now based on ERE36B and using teknologist's custom kernel. P Just a quick note. The package I provided Paul with is composed of 2 pieces: a TCK preliminary kernel and the openvpn+libs runtime so you can use openvpn out of the box ! The kernel I provided is Cyanogen's kernel source with a different configuration compiled with gcc 4.4.0 from android SDK. basically the differences compared to vanilla cyanogen's: - cifs/tun/nfs client as modules - added Conservative CPU governor so we can give it a try with setCPU That is all the difference for the moment. It also uses MCR ramdisk with sysV runlevels style init scripts hence the /system/etc/init.d/50teknologist init script to insert modules on boot This script will serve to include all tweaks in future releases. Again, it's not much but it's a start ! ;-) If you want to take advantage of the openvpn runtime/libs out of the box, I strongly recommend Christophe Vandeplas' excellent TunnelDroid available from the market for free ! Enjoy !
Guest Paul Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 An added note, I believe Teknologist used the .config from my previous kernel as a starting point. P
Guest teknologist Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) An added note, I believe Teknologist used the .config from my previous kernel as a starting point. P Exactly Sir ! So I avoided running into the USB Storage hang/reboot bug you had in your first config ! ;-) In fact the diff with your .config may be ridiculously small. What I really needed was openvpn integration. Now we have a TCK base, lets start the fun ! Any ideas anyone ? apart from the overclocking madness.. ;-) [EDIT] the 0.1 in the kernel version (2.6.29.6-cm-teknologist-0.1) is supposed to stress the fact that it's not much custom for the moment ;-) The cm is there to says that credit goes to cyanogen mod for producing such a great kernel source tree for nexusone ! Any ideas anyone ? apart from the overclocking madness.. ;-) I wouldn't say overclocking is necessary, I find the phone quite fast as it is and the gains from clocking it is still so marginal it can't make a big difference? But It would be awesome to get JIT running stable! :D Don't know if this is something that's "out of your hands" but none the less running JIT boosts the phone quite a bit (up until the point where the phone crashes of course :D) Edited February 15, 2010 by Mantisen
Guest DremoX Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Google's ERE36B is good ..... - Based on ERE36G What have you included correctly now? The ERE36B or the ERE36G?
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Is this the de-odexed Version or is it not implemented yet? I don't know, how much it takes, so I don't want to stress you.
Guest xkonni Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Is this the de-odexed Version or is it not implemented yet? I don't know, how much it takes, so I don't want to stress you. More features coming soon - including a non-odex'd version for the themers out there! :D
Guest Paul Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Is this the de-odexed Version or is it not implemented yet? I don't know, how much it takes, so I don't want to stress you. Which files in particular need to be de-odexed? P
Guest katermuc Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 when will you add more languages like Cyanogen does? MoreLocale doesn't do a good job on the Nexus...
Guest Paul Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Since i'm basing this particular MCR on the stock image, I won't be adding locales unless I can work out a way of doing so without compiling from the ground up... P
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Which files in particular need to be de-odexed? P I only know framework-res and services.jar. At Hero it works well with the themeing and your rom. I thought you know which files are needed. *lol*
Guest Paul Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 framework-res isn't odex'd in this ROM, I thought that's where virtually all the theming stuff was? If anyone has a theme they want to work, point me to it! :D P
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Yes. And services.jar isn't themeable.
Guest Paul Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Eh? So services.jar needs to be un-odexed? C'mon, help me out here people, I wanna give you what you need! :D P
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) I've asked now cyanogen via twitter. He says nothing should be odexed. I asked him now again and hope to get a detailed information. Themes I can do, but what must be unodexed, thats what I don't know, too. My hope for this information is on cyanogen. I hope he helps us out. services.jar is fix. That must be themeable for the colour of the statusbar and his fonts. Edited February 15, 2010 by Formel-LMS
Guest wjaxxx Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Hi, I have an issue with SetCPU. I installed yesterday the modaco 1.6 from online kitchen and wiping everything before. After that I tried with SetCPU 1.4.6 and SU screen was black. From that on, every SU request from any app was black. However, once I reflash 1.6 again, and before executing SetCPU, running Wired Tether ask for SU correctly and works. So I guess there is something wrong with SetCPU or with the combination of SetCPU and Modaco ROM. Any ideas? :D Thanks!
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 @paul: I've heard from another place, thats only framework--res and services.jar must be unodex'd. Framwork-res is unodexed as you say? Than we need only services.jar unodexed to theme your rom.
Guest Formel-LMS Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I thought, cyanogen could tell us the truth. I didn't know him personal. So my other informant told me that framework-res and services.jar ist enough. I hope, he's right... ;-)
Guest Paul Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I imagine it depends what you want to skin! P
