you have to "make otapackage". This is made from cyanogen repo, lox have another version called KaguDroid.

Hi I read it only now...

could you write what you discover? :-D

Problem wasn't in eris libraries. It is somewhere between Cyanogen sources and Lox hero fixes, it does not work even if you compile with libraries from latest Jim release.

Freeze doesn't look like freeze of system, it is some other error. What seems to be problem is

D/KeyguardViewMediator( 99): wakeWhenReadyLocked(3)

Now it looks ok, tried one day full use. Battery drain is faster then in vanillain, but it is generally same for all HSDPA enabled ROMS (I suggest to use wifi where available). Some live wallpapers which worked in Jim release does not work (there are very few working).

Camera is working on 5M (please confirm).

I updated radio to latest, so I am not sure if it is required or not.

I am not a maintainer of this ROM, I usually don't have time for this and I need to use my phone daily. If you like my build, donate Cyanogen and LoxK.

---

I am not responsible.Don't tell that to our HR.

I strongly recommend to do not download any ROM which is not approved by forum maintainers (except this one :-D)

Anyone tried this? Except for the possible camera fix, has anything else been changed? I'm quite happy with cm-hero-1.0 right now except for some random reboots (kernel panics) that I don't know the cause of.

Well, camera fix is not a fix at all. It crashes, just not so often (in 5M). There are few changes from both Lox and Cyanogen, even some I don't like personally. Most of drivers are from eris, but I didn't noticed any real improvement (my neocore is 24.8).

If you like cyanogen work, this build is worth try. I never run into kernel panic (even on Jim's builds), this have to be some conflicting app.

Full wipe is suggested.

New version. No visible changes, some changes in drivers. And, very weird analog clock widget :)

//

Neocore is now 26 and camera seems to be fixed definitely. Live wallpapers which worked in Jim release are working. Some drivers are from Legend.

Can I update without a wipe if I come from your previous build?

Also, does this solve the rotation bug in Gallery3D? 'Cause I believe that it's fixed in the latest VillainROM so you might want to take a look at the drivers used there! Anyways, love your work ;)

Hi vorcigernix,

Nice job, I started working on that one but didn't had enough time. You did great. I just flash it and I was wondering : Did you "mod" the ROM from jnwhiteh or did you compile the Cyanogen code ? I ask that because in your ROM, I didn't see the 360 degree rotation fix that was added by Optedoblivion in the cyanogenmod framework.

Nice job again, and I'll try to start from your Eris "drivers" integration to test compiling cyanogen framework tonight.

mik

Gallery3D: still doesn't rotate properly. Villain is Sense based, I am not sure if their fix will work here (I can try to be sure).

Update without wipe does not worked in my case, can't say why.

I didn't mod anything: all I did is described in second post from Jim, I just tried to mix drivers from leaked builds until I got clean logcat.

I returned from Livigno today, I will try to fix some issues soon (youtube playback is my top priority).

I am dying to find a good stable clean 2.1 AOSP ROM for the Hero... what issues does this latest one have? I can't find a working / not working list anywhere

yes yes....and this is reason why I am compiling new builds from given sources. Working/not working for latest build is same as in Jim build only differences are:

+ cam works (even in 5M)

- youtube doesn't

How did you fix it ?

I have the same problem when I try the 270 degre rotation.

Strange because I didn't get the same features as your ROM. (360 rotation, user agent switch in browser ect...)

you build it in same way and got different features? Well, in last build I had some problems with launcher so I replaced this code with vanilla source.

I have big problems with lox/cyanogen sources so I will probably leave these sources anyway.

Hey, built as described on the first page, did a make otapackage to get the update-zip, wiped my phone, flashed it, but it hangs on the initial static splash screen when I try and boot it.

When I check logcat, I get looping errors about audio stuff, with the below error being the only actual error, with the rest just information.

E/HTC Acoustic( 234): Fail to open /system/etc/AudioPara_HTC-WWE.csv -1.

Oh, and vorcigernix, what other bases have you been looking at besides Cyanogen, I tried building OpenEclair using the lox community vendor tree, but kinda hit a roadblock there.

I tried lox repo http://github.com/loxK/android_vendor_community against vanilla http://source.android.com/download. Does not boot, it have to be something in lox repo (but his last kagu works good).

I am afraid to brick my device, but it will be good to know if vanilla boot (it will freeze on some missing driver probably, but it should boot at least to animated logo I think).
