Frozen on boot

Hi

All of a sudden I was booting my O2 and it froze after boot. Just before it prompted for the pin, and I can see the today-screen. Only way to turn it of is by soft reset or battery in/out. Is there anything i can do to save all those hours of configuration and pain? Please.

edit: aaaaaaaaand I think Jesus loves me. Suddenly it booted as normal after 10-12 soft resets ^^

edit2: Any good backup software in case it becomes screwed again?
