Help a newb :D

Ok. Firstly, I would like to appologise in advance, I have been searching the forums on various terms and came up with nothing really.

So, could anyone please point out a source of useful information regarding Android. It's a vague question - I know, but there are stuff that I, as a new user to android don't really understand, yet.

For example, there are talk of recovery - From what I understand, you can install the Lickonn recovery image. What exacly is a "recovery image", and is the device shipped with a recovery image from start and this just adds extra functionality to it - Seeing as there's already a key-combination to get in to recovery, im mighty confused here.

Then there's the ADB, which I guess I grasped, but I don't feel very comfortable and such poking around with it without knowing more, I suppose.

So could someone please point me in a direction like a wiki, webpage or something where you can learn about all this stuff? It would be greatly appriciated.

You also have to keep in mind there are different recovery images with different options, but that should give you the general idea.
