Hi All,

I just recently had my phone service for the dust under the screen issue. Luckily it took only a day and I got my phone back.

They replaced the LCD, and the screen, of which I lost my race shield for the screen. In the end I decided to remove it all and now my phone is bare, and very nice if I may add.

So now I'm using the pouch that came with the phone. It's quite nice as it cleans the screens for you when you take it out. But I am a bit concerned with the sides, as there are some leather protruding inside the pouch. I wonder if after long use if it will scratch the phone.

Has anyone used the pouch for a long time and how was it? Can it really protect the phone well? Thus no need for any screen protector or invisi shield?

I know it's good to have screen protector but it's just watching videos now with a bare screen is just so brilliant, I'm reluctant to install one.

i used to use the pouch alot until i got invis shield. before hand i had the plastic screen cover that came with the phone. just my two cents worth, i wouldnt recommend not having a screen protector. if a rather large dust particle gets stuck on the inner layer of your pouch, it could scratch the screen when you pull the phone out.

Your videos won't look so great if you scratch the screen! I got an iPhone pouch on ebay as the one that came with my phone was just so tight and was a real fumble when a call came in. I was lucky the iPhone pouch cost 1p including postage all the way from Hong Kong. ;)

Ive had my Omnia II for about five months now.... ive boughta lot of different screen protectors.... including Invisibleshield which by the way in my opinion is a pain in the @$$ to install unless you do it on a brand new out of the box device.... ended up sticking to a basic plain screen prtector i bought for 5 bucks from a local telco store and also bought a lot of different cases and gotta say the best one is the one that comes with the phone in the box... i think its great... havent had any problems and not a single scratch in 5 months so i say just use the sleeve that came with your phone but getting some sort of screen protector is still a good option.. just get a basic one and btw i dont have any video viewing problems with the screen protector seriously the video looks the same unless you get an anti glare screen protector which is in personal opinion useless and makes the screen colours real weird

I guess it's unanimous. OK will get a normal screen protector today. I guess I may have just thought the video was better without the screen protector.

I was using a race shield before though so maybe it's because it has already turn yellowish that is why it's not that clear. I had installed since I bought the phone. So that is why I'm so fascinated with the bare screen right now. the look and especially the glide. It's only now I realized the race shield was actually a little bit stick. Well at least least it lasted 3 months on my phone lol. Somehow worth the bucks I spent.

One thing though, I hate how unnaturally careful I am with the phone right now because it's bare lol.

Too late. This is just awesome! I was carefully cleaning the back of my o2, so decided to place in on top of my bed and clean the back. So that my screen is protected. WRONG !!!!

I got a nice scratch because of my bed. Imagine that. Well maybe because I am not cleaning my room and the bed had lots of sandy like texture dust. I always felt my bed was like lying in the beach but i never bother. TILL NOW !!! (FYI, I cleaned my room now)

No use for a protector, it's a hairline scratch but since it's there might as well use it bear with it till it gets more scratched and stuff then I just buy a new digitizer.

It's not that bad. I am really digging the feel of the bare screen and I still hold true to my statement that watching videos with the bare screen is still a much better experience than when I had the Race shield. (It's just me really. The product was great, it just does not fit me)

Anyone know of a good cleaner for our o2 screen to clean off smudges off the screen. I saw this product name ifoam (http://www.thinkomnia2.com/ifoam-5959.html). is it any good?

Found a tread here where he used displex on his screen. it messed up the screen very badly, well I'm not using that! hehe.

And anyone from Singapore know a place to buy these cleaning stuff? Thanks!

Buy a protector anyway and install it, chances are that you will not notice the scratch afterwards, my invisishield covered a quite annoying scratch on my phone. (but I agree that it was a pain to install it)

just my two cents.

Regarding the sleeve, its too damn tight. Should have opened on the side instead or something. By the time I get it out of the sleeve whoever called have already hung up.

Exactly the same happens to me! ;)

I have two small dots of dust resting on my LCD, i am wondering whether to send it to service. Any opinion guys? Haha, however i am not sure whether they will replace the LCD and the digitizer like what babyjosef17 has stated.

In my opinion, the best screen protectors that I've at least tried so far are from a company call FOLIX in Germany. They are anti-reflective, very robust and strong, and they last a long time in between changes. I purchase mine from Amazon.

I have to look out for that dust under the screen issue. I've only had my O2 for a few weeks now. Is this a global problem with the device?
