Guest tsutton Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 Google Working On Live Translation Service Looks like Google has been busy lately. They has said that they are developing a Live Voice Translation Technology usng your mobile phone and is live. Petty cool! The company would combine its advanced voice recognition know-how with its text translation service to create a mobile phone that acts as an instant interpreter. Head of translation services Franz Och said: "We think speech-to-speech translation should be possible and work reasonably well in a few years' time. "Clearly, for it to work smoothly, you need a combination of high-accuracy machine translation and high-accuracy voice recognition, and that's what we're working on." Souns good. Lets hope they will perfect the system, so you can understand what others saying in their natural language (i.e. in shops, restaurant, etc) However Google did say one of the biggest challenges will be coping with accents. Guest victoriaw Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Actually, Google is busy buying proyects from small or unknown developers.. Although, this are interesting news.. I hope they hire some good Spanish translation services instead of using the well known automatic translator.
