I never used the default Samsung Widget Plus but SPB Does use a lot of ram with JA5's Room and 144 mb, I have around 65 left after a reboot and it goes down pretty fast in a few hour I reach 40 mb easily. Actually, I was using SPB with the Espresso's theme. I'm on TouchFlo right now which isn't really better IMO.

Had the same problems with noag mobilesense and espresso themes and SPB. Currently back to using titanium.

Yes, the SPB uses a lot of RAM. When I was used back than, I had less than 30MB RAM. Now I'm using TouchFlo 3D 1.3 and I have more than 60 megs of free RAM with stock ROM.

SPB MS 3.5 certainly also uses a lot of battery juice. I used MS 3.5 with my i900, but not with my O2 because I'm actually happy with the stock interface - at least for now.

How long does your 60 mb of rams last? I had TouchFLo too and didn't see an improvement toward SPB Shell, actually I'm back to it because I can't seem to configure Titanium ;).

SPB Mobile Shell is nice but sucking RAM. I left around 30MB and it can use until your RAM finish pretty fast. Less than a day you may already need to restart the device.

Previously Samsung Widget Plus is sucking and leaking RAM but the current JA5 build is damn great!.

After load with Samsung Widget Plus, it still left around 47MB and it constantly maintaining that level even after a day or 2 or more. It seems the leak issue is fixing.

I beg to differ on both the RAM issue, and the battery claim.

First, the latter. I am using MS3.5 and have no battery drain problems at all. If I do nothing other than talk a few times a day on phone calls, text a bit, and hit the internet with Opera a few times a day, my battery will last several days.

It never does, though. Instead, it needs to be charged like twice a day. But that's because I'm heavily using the thing, listening to music, watching video, playing games, etc. SPB MS3 made no difference in power consumption compared to the native interface, for me at least.

As for RAM: In an absolute measure, yes, it uses a lot of RAM. Around 10MB. However, if you're using MS3, it's not MS3 that's eating your RAM, it's MS Today and TouchWiz -- two things you aren't using -- that are sucking you dry. Layering MS3.5 on top of Today and TouchWiz buys you nothing, and wastes about 15MB of RAM, as well as other system resources.

Turn off TouchWiz, disable Today, and replace both with MS3.5. You will net gain about 5MB.

I have a heavily customized phone, lots of stuff installed, some of it very RAM hungry. MS3.5 grabs about 10MB, S2U2/iLock2 3MB with no fancy wallpaper (throw a cool full-res animated GIF in there and it can swell to 10-15MB easily), and about a half-dozen other resident processes that are part of my customized config -- and I still boot up with about 67MB of free RAM after everything's up and running.

If you need Today (I do, for WeatherPanel), get Second Today and use that to host your today plugins. Unlike Today, Second Today can be quit when you're not on the Today screen, freeing resources.

Settings->General Settings->Samsung Touchwiz UI

Hi mate, can you please tell me which ROM of OMNIA II you use and has the "TouchWiz UI" in "Settings / General Settings"?

I have Secany's but my wife's one is untouched Samsung Stock ROM... We both lack this and as far I remember I haven't see it but in my Old OMNIA I...
