Guest is77gal Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I found on opnmarket ucw browser and I must say that is pretty nice...however some testing is in orde cause it has some problems here and there... however I encourage everyone who has`nt tested it yet to do and those who have to share their opinions.... First, the good: it`s fast...and I mean FAST, never got a checkerboard (not once), it has a lot of options, it looks acceptable, even good, it loads movies via mediaplayer very fast, has a good dl manager and other settings. Second, the ugly: have`nt got there yet Third, the bad: the rendering of pages..is awkward...all the pages look mobile by arrangement though they`re not and I made it work only through wifi...gonna try tomorrow on 3g More testers the better

Guest skoda60 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Uhmm..Link for download? Download from official site, here you are: I was using the Chinese version since Omnia: http://www.uc.cn/product.shtml English version: http://www.uc.cn/English/download.shtml I never try the English version But the download manager in Chinese version was better then firefox and Google Chrome. But can't used it to downloand from RS as free user especially Scany ROM. For RS premium user it was supper good. I put all the download files in the download manager, it consecutive download two files the less put on que, When download been brack off, it can resume back the download. Very good for download Scany ROM. Another good point was I upload my book marks into the server, After ROM flashing, I download it back. Good and convenience. Fast and good, never used opera since Omnia.

Guest JasonMania Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) I just tried it , First of all I like the font. Second of all , i think it is reasonably speedy . I like the user interface and especially the tabs on top. The rendering of the pages is weird is more like Mobile browser loading than full pc loading , however i am not sure it is a bad thing , Even though Opera browser or other similar browser do a full rendering like the PC , it is not easy to use , I mean scrolling and you have to zoom in and out , and when you move fast you get the checkerboards ,and you have to wait , but this browser in my opinion is good cause it renders the page in a way that you no longer need to zoom and keep scrolling so much , it is good if you read web sites with lots of Text content if you ask me , so that is perfect for me. It is a bit early to say but i think I like it , and the user interface is nice, but i think there is still more room for improvement , it consumes slightly less than Opera in terms of RAM which is the good thing. UPDATE: Sorry I earlier said I cannot do full page rendering , but it can .you just need to adjust the preference sorry my bad, but it doesn't still support flash. My review is quite positive , but the browser is not the prefect browser. It is excellent if you read lots of text content on your mobile phone but you can not use Youtube or sites like youtube on this browser, the whole site just doesn't show it just says untitled and it is a blank page. Agreed here, although I see no lag while browsing it unlike OM where everytime I scroll there's a big white spot.

You should try this browser http://www.dorothybrowser.com. It's similar to opera mobile but consumes less RAM. Speed wise, it's as fast if not faster than opera mobile. It's doesn't support flash nor does it allow you to watch youtube videos but it works for my browsing needs. Edited February 17, 2010 by 07aspenx
