Thanks Paul for this great effort.

However, I am having an issue with Microsoft exchange; when i enter all the information and then select what to sync, it says processing (for a while) and then gives a message "failed to create the account, please try again later"

i had this problem with all of the desire roms and i am not having it with MCR nor CM roms

It was announced earlier in the thread last night that the backlights are going to be lit when the screen is on.. Then off when not. This is going to be implemented in the next release. It has been giving a serious issue (for some).. I personally never have the problem. But, i do.. understand where this takes effect though. It's not after you press the on button and the screen lights, it's after a few seconds or a lil while that they shut off, and, after pressing they don't light in sequence with the haptic feedback.

So, that leaves, BT, and uhh.. very lil things.. :)

I've got a weard one. I received a couple of SMS from my provider and they show up as sms-es from a contact I have in Facebook even though the sending number is not the same... :-|

yup... same here.

that facebook contact doesn't even have a phone number.

odd.

blacklisted the contact from messaging (handsend), but they still come back.

Actually you don't need Ringdroid if you're using HTC Sense. There is a built in ringtone trimmer in the music player. So my suggestion would be to pull up the song in the music player, and do the 'set as ringtone' option. It will give you options to set the ringtone as is or trim it to your preference.

I installed alpha 17 yesterday. So far I have 2 problems:

1) I cannot get MMS to work. It doesn't work with the included APN, and it doesn't work when I manually add the APN from my service provider.

2) The light on the softkeys only works when it wants too. Usually they light up when the screen is on.

Nice... this is very true. My acostum to do it one way, but, you gotta give it up to ringdroid. You could edit like in a music studio. See the music waves, base and treble level. I dunno but I own my own studio. We make ringtins of our ish too. So, trust, if its the same is one my lively dear friend.. pp.. but it being am excelled instrument is a whole other.

Plus, you all wanted an update. E Jonas keyboard i flawless now. No freezes or lags n missing letters mind you. I did not push clicker. I felt no need. Since sense possessing one, I thinkn.

In general, are people finding better performance with Swap?

Right now, my card is just one big FAT32 partition... I know how to create the other partitions, and know that A2SD is automatic (if baked that way), but I found nothing in searching on how to enable SWAP once you have your partition set up. Could you fill me in?? Is this automatic too?

One thing I did discover. After manually editing the APN info, and then menu save, we need to add a reboot the phone. I tested this on my setup and 9 out of ten times or so, data connection still would not work correctly. A reboot and the lovely H appears and all is well in Mobile Network connection land.

1. Known issue. Wait for a fix or revert to prior rom

2. Known issue. Reported ad nauseum. Please use search box enter keywords and search on bottom of pages here. The soft key lights generally will work in a dark room, BTW. But still is buggy with the desire ROM and is a known problem

I'm using Alpha 17 now, the big problem I'm having is I couldn't connect to 3g network even I have added the APN manually. I'm from Singapore and using Singtel now.

I like this custom ROM than the original Google ROM. I've become the premium user today also :)

Just swapped over from the NexDesire Rom to this because I wanted the better camera. Also nice to have the trackball colours - they look lovely using Handcent SMS

Info for anyone wanting to use the .33 UV at Stock Speeds Kernel from XDA with this ROM :)

The new method of applying this Kernel involves pushing lib folder with .ko file in it and a CyanMod folder. The cyanmod folder messes up the ROM, but if you take it OUT of the modules folder and just leave the .ko file to be pushed, everything works fine and dandy.

So, to recap -when you get the file from the site, you need to unzip the folder and place the zImage file and the lib folder into your folder with fastboot and adb in. Then go into the lib folder then into modules and take out or delete the folder leaving just the .ko file.

Then you can follow the instructions on the site without any probs. ;)

What exactly is wrong with mms? mine works fine... maybe the apn setting is off? I know there was a conflict with the proxy number on here. some have it as .50 and some have it as .050 (i went with .050) and it works fine?

Just thought I'd compile a quick bug list before I swap back to MCR2.0:

- Can't send SMS's of >160 characters

- MP4 video (sometimes) shows a white screen, sound but no video

- No mic button in HTC keyboard

- Charging/charged light behaviour is unpredictable

- Soft button lights are unpredictable

- Screen off when on call feature (proximity sensor) no longer supported for some apps (eg Truphone)

- APN not autopopulating for some people

- FC when opening messages from notification bar for some users

- Bluetooth

- Gesture searches bring up the relevant contact in address book, but then selecting contact gives "contact not found" error message

For me, the biggest issue is the SMS one- reminds me of all the hassle we HD2 users had with never knowing whether our SMS'es were sent or not. The APN thing is a non-issue if you're outside the US, where manually adding APNs is de rigeur for any new ROMS

Hope this helps for the next alpha. Please please please fix the SMS issue :)

While fiddling about with the HTC keyboard settings I found an option to bring up the Android keyboard which does have the mic on it... however now that I have done that I can't figure out how the heck to go back to the HTC keyboard!!! There appears to be no way of doing so.... or I just have not found where! Any one know????

I have a little bug here, Paul.

When the screen is on but blocked, if you push or touch the menù soft button the screen became unblocked.

It's a problem when you have the N1 on your pocket and an incoming call.....

Do you have this bug?

I'v seen more issues with this Alpha then 15 & 16 some major ones for me:

My Camera app has not worked since flashing to 17, it just force closes, Camcorder works fine but when recording has an awful static noise in the backround.

Battery Life has become much worse!

Messaging bug, it won't send txts 160 or above

When on a call, my call in waiting notification is this awful noise.
